25.01.2022 Caught and safely released this stunning mature 1.6m Eastern Brown Snake yesterday. The unique aspect of this was that it was from public land. If you are walking in high traffic spaces in Mt Beauty and have an encounter and have concerns for public safety (and the snakes own safety) please call Alpine Shire’s main number and request a snake catcher. If you can’t get onto the shire then call Michael or Jarrod direct. No snakes need to be harmed going about their daily iso lives. (Pics taken on release)

25.01.2022 *this post has been edited from another snake catchers business, we are following suit* Regarding the new essential services lockdown, we consider that our services would be considered as essential for the safety of the community. Therefore, we have made the decision that we will still operate 24/7 throughout the near future of lock downs. We will take all precautions necessary to avoid making contact with anyone, to help lessen the chance of spreading the virus. Please don’t... be offended if we keep our distance from you or your family members or we don’t shake your hands. If you do need a snake relocated, please call us on Michael Whipps 0408 123 801 Jarrod Paine 0408 126 990 We operate 24/7. Please stay safe in this time of uncertainty. We will get through this.

24.01.2022 The warmer months are coming and sunbaking reptiles are being see more often. Make sure you put Whipps and Jarrod’s phone number in your phone ready to go, and keep watching the animal you’re calling us about to remove. Maybe we’ll get chased by a grill-necked lizard if we’re lucky!

24.01.2022 Frank the Ford got up close and personal with this young Copperhead Snake. Caught and released, but did he or she really want to get out of the car? Fast and graceful.

23.01.2022 Not Australian but great video that demonstrates nature working with predators. This snake wants nothing to do with the reception it’s getting from the squirrel. I wonder if our Native possums would employ similar tactics?

23.01.2022 Call Whipps or Jarrod rather than picking up any baby snakes. Lucky Lucy!

21.01.2022 A quick spot of community assistance this week; catching a snake trying to enrol at Mt Beauty Primary School!

20.01.2022 First catch of the season. Beautiful mature Tiger snake in a wood shed in Tawonga. I think it’s a sign that the Tigers are up for a win Tomorrow!

18.01.2022 Two call outs yesterday, the warmer weather is starting to kick in. As always, give them space, keep an eye on the snake from a safe distance and give us a call. Michael Whipps is away for two weeks from today, so make sure you have Jarrod’s number in your phone. 0408 126 990

17.01.2022 Blotched Blue-tongue VS Tiger Snake! Maybe my most interesting capture so far this snake season! Very happy...

13.01.2022 Fresh early morning catch for JP today- 0815- lovely fat copperhead out hunting skinks. Snakes are awake and active at the start and late into the evening in this heat folks, keep aware.

12.01.2022 JP had been playing hide and seek with this young copperhead all week. You know what they say, third times a treat. The owner got so used to seeing this snake (even though it was always hiding/off hunting when JP arrived) that they even decided it was a she. I wonder if they named her! She’s now free and healthy to roam in the forest thanks to the home owner calling us to humanely remove this amazing creature from their bedroom porch.

12.01.2022 Here’s a great video for anyone who thinks they have been chased by a brown snake.

11.01.2022 Relocation of a Sleepy 4-5ft Red Bellied Black this morning, 7:15am. New record for earliest call out for Jarrod!

10.01.2022 Great advice below on if a snake bite occurs. To avoid this happening make sure to plan for a reptile free home and yard this summer by cleaning up your yard and garden, always wearing closed toe footwear and long pants in areas you can’t count your toes (it’s too bushy) and calling Whipps or Jarrod if you need a slithering friend removed from your yard, home or workplace. Just remember to keep an eye on it while you’re waiting for us!

06.01.2022 Here’s a quick video of the release of a Juvenile Red Bellied Black Snake caught at the Mount Beauty Primary School today.

05.01.2022 I was lucky enough to witness this beautiful big Red Bellied Black Snake swallowing down a small trout the other day. Some other locals had watched it five in the water and catch it! We truly do have a healthy and active ecosystem here.

05.01.2022 Nice little video of a tiger snake release yesterday. This guy was caught in a backyard on Valley Ave. Notice how he’s in no way aggressive toward me and just wants to move on away from me give them space and they will give you space

05.01.2022 Both Jarrod and Whipps will be away from the valley for the next week. For any urgent snake calls try Tom in Bright. 0481 285 576 or Darren in Wang 0412 754 242. They are out and about and the best thing to do is leave them be and give them space. Enjoy the good weather

02.01.2022 These guys are coming to Bright in spring.

01.01.2022 Great little video about the Tiger Snake. Take a few minutes and have a watch.

01.01.2022 One of the many benefits of being a qualified venomous snake catcher and education outdoors teacher is be unique skill set I can bring to interacting with our beautiful native animals. So cute...
