18.01.2022 This Sunday, 17 January, the great Jack Jensen returns to Kiewa Street Market's musicians' gazebo. Of course you know Jack: he was here with The Remnantz just before Christmas. He's a guitarist who knows guitars and amplifiers inside and out; he's a harmonicist (which means he plays the harmonica); he sings, and sometimes he plays the banjo too. Jack's era is the twentieth century, and his styles are country, pop, blues, jazz and reggae. Oh, and Celtic too. And there are some... novelty banjo numbers. Okay, long story short: it's everything except opera and rap. I don't have a solo music vid, but here you see him rocking on with The Remnanz. That's Jack in the red tee shirt. And please, do do the right thing when you see that open guitar case. This Sunday, 17 January, the great Jack Jensen returns to Kiewa Street Market's
16.01.2022 It's always a special day when we introduce a new musician to Kiewa St Market, and this Sunday, 29 November, we are thrilled to introduce singer, songwriter, and guitarist Franki Jay. Franki is a lover of lyrics and story. If you have seen her intimate, uplifting performances at Two Fingers Whiskey Bar, at a local market, or in a sound healing at Yoganess, then you know the power and haunting beauty of her vocals. This Sunday she brings her original music --raw, vulnerable, a...nd honest-- and also some of your favourites, because she knows that you love to sing too. Franki is relatively new to Albury, so please give her a big Albury welcome, and be sure to say hello -- she has quite a story to tell. (And, if you spot an open guitar case, remember to give generously.)

13.01.2022 This Sunday, 9 February, the hits keep coming with guitarist and vocalist DENISE THORMAN, live in the gazebo. Denise has been the mainstay of our market since it opened, yet she's still nowhere near the end of her fabled 1,500 song repertoire. You know the rules: pick any rock, country, or easy listening number from the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s, ask Denise to play it, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. This is a rare talent, and a tremendous contribution to our market. So ...please do the right thing and line that hard-working guitar case with gold. Meanwhile, Princess Parties Albury/Wodonga is sending ANNA FROM FROZEN to entertain and brighten up the market from the stalls side.
13.01.2022 What's your last memory of life before COVID-19? For me, it was Partners in Crime (that's Arthur Hull and Tom Summerfield), blowing the lid off the last pre-lockdown Kiewa St Market with their mix of jazz, pop, and all points in between. This Sunday, 15 November, PiC are back to wow us again. We know that they're accomplished: they've performed for the Governor General in Canberra, at the Tim Fischer Memorial Concert in Albury, and numerous gigs around town. Tom is the classical pianist at the top of his game, and Arthur is the vocalist who described himself last time as a "fledgling big-band crooner". But where has their talent taken them in the last seven months? Guess we'll find out. (And please, do give generously.)

11.01.2022 This Sunday, 22 November, we are proud and grateful to welcome back acclaimed singer, guitarist, songwriter, and music educator *Nathan Vaccaro*. A much sought-after teacher at the Murray Conservatorium, Nathan has collaborated with artists both classical and contemporary, and been hailed by peers in the music industry as amazingly talented and a musical celebration. Yet he always keeps in touch with the rest of us. See him there this Sunday, and please donate as generously as you can.
11.01.2022 This Sunday, 15 March, Kiewa St Market is all about the suave and the sophisticated, with Partners in Crime in the gazebo and Alexander in the stalls. Partners in Crime is Tom Summerfield and Arthur Hull, two ot Trinity Anglican College's finest. Tom is the classical pianist at the top his game, and Arthur is the knockout vocalist who describes himself as "a fledgling big band crooner". They've already performed for the Governor General in Canberra, and at the Tim Fischer Mem...orial Concert in Albury, so we're pretty chuffed that they're playing for us. Alexander, meanwhile, is the smooth sax man who swings to the sounds of Sinatra. We saw him last September, and since then he's doubled his repertoire and his talent grows and grows. But he's still a man with one name and one rule: "I only play the songs that are happy". So slide into your best tux or evening gown (or both) and join the smart set at Kiewa St Market this Sunday. Then go ahead amaze yourself with your generous donations to these volunteer musicians.
11.01.2022 Lots of plants on offer at the market - great morning out every Sunday . #localmarket #plants
11.01.2022 It's surround sound in the markets this Sunday, December 15, with Denise Thorman in the gazebo and Evan Daly in the stalls. Of course you know Denise. She is our most versatile vocalist, with a repertoire of over 1,500 songs, spanning the genres of rock, country, and easy listening, and the eras from the 60s to the 90s. Try her with requests. You won't be disappointed, because the songs she plays are the songs you know and love. Meanwhile, please welcome singer, guitarist and... songwriter, Evan Daly. The son of a jazz guitarist and a classical pianist, Evan has lived and breathed music for as long as he can remember, and probably longer. From Mowtown to pub standards, from this week’s radio hits to his own compositions, Evan adds a unique twist to everything he touches. It’s the groove of funk and soul. It’s the sophistication of jazz. It’s the signature Evan Daly sound, and it sounds like this: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2351633588480874 See more
11.01.2022 She's back! Denise Thorman has been with our market from the beginning and she's with us still. This Sunday, 8 November, Denise and her 1,500-song repertoire will be rocking the gazebo again, and taking your requests. Here is the challenge: ask her to play any rock, country, or easy listening number from the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s. I don't think you'll be disappointed. This is a rare talent, and a tremendous contribution to our market. So please show your appreciation, and do the right thing when you see that open guitar case.

08.01.2022 On Sunday 1 November, Kiewa St Market sees the return of the great Jack Jensen. Jack is a guitarist who knows guitars and amplifiers inside and out; he's a harmonicist (which means he plays the harmonica); he sings, and if you ask him to play the banjo he even might find one of those too, somewhere in that famous VW Kombi of his. And of course you’ll recognize him straight away, from his market appearances with the legendary Remnantz. 05.01.2022 This Sunday, 23 February, Kiewa St Market sees the return of the acclaimed singer, songwriter and guitarist Willy Golightly, live in the gazebo, just for us. Based in Beechworth, Willy describes his style as "Folk/Blues/RootsyTootsy", and for most of his adult life he has been sharing it with pubs, bars, wineries and festivals of Australia. He has played support for the likes of Xavier Rudd, Phil Manning Joe Camilleri, Russell Morris, and Chain. He reckons his career highlight was the time he lent his guitar to Matt Taylor. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR4Q7sI3RCM Please make him welcome, and, as always, remember to do the right thing by the open guitar case.
