23.01.2022 Exciting times ahead for Kiewa Valley Kids!

21.01.2022 The Kinder Group couldn't let the Juniors have all the fun yesterday. A visit to the Albury Airport and Library was inspired by the recent exploration of the world, visiting a different country each week as part of their program and as part of their early literacy development. They were very lucky and got to listen to famous author 'Alison Lester' read a few of her books before heading to the Airport, where they got to sit in a plane and got an amazing tour. What a fantastic way to explore their learning.

19.01.2022 What a fantastic morning we have had with Reptile Kingdom coming in to educate our early learners about the wonders of reptiles! Children had the opportunity to touch, hold and interact with snakes, a crocodile, turtle and a variety of lizards whilst learning about what they eat, where they live and what to do if we come across them in their natural habitats. Living in a rural community, where snakes are quite prominent, it was great to have access to such an insightful experience. Thankyou Reptile Kingdom for the wonderful show!

15.01.2022 How lucky are we to of had much loved local man, Peter Croucher, come in and share his musical talent with us. The children have enjoyed dancing, singing along and interacting with Mr Piano Accordian the past two mornings. Thanks Peter, we can't wait to have you back again soon.

13.01.2022 The Junior's demonstrated their emerging social negotiating skills and ability to work together today when they created this river. As a group, they were able to extend their own learning with their amazing, creative minds. The addition of a crocodile in the river meant they needed to find something to help them cross, luckily they had some great ideas up their sleeves and were able to create a bridge. Watching their imaginations unfold and their ideas come to life so collaboratively was magical! #learningjourney #welovemessyplay

10.01.2022 Upper Sandy Creek Primary School Excursion The Kinder group were fortunate enough to go and visit Upper Sandy Creek PS today. Mr V (The principal) collected us on the school bus and we excitedly began the journey up the valley. When we arrived at the school we were welcomed by the school students. ... Inside the classroom we participated in a Literacy and Art activity based on the story of a seahorse called Leo. Following our activities inside we went outside and rotated around small group sport activities planned by the students at Sandy Creek. During the participation we saw lots of encouragement and peer support amongst the children. These games allowed us to practice our gross and fine motor skills as well as opportunities to make new friends. Following our outdoor play we had a delicious BBQ lunch with the school students where we shared stories about what we had enjoyed for the day. We were lucky enough to meet the school's horses and feed them our scraps left over from morning tea before jumping on the bus and travelling back to Kinder. Sandy Creek Primary kindly gave each child a special plant to take home to remember our visit. This excursion was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Teachers, Mel, Nicky & Shania.

05.01.2022 Please show your support and sign the e-petition. The local families attending Kiewa Valley Kindergarten have been unfairly overlooked by The Victorian Government! Your signature may help our rural families get the Kindergarten fee support that they deserve

02.01.2022 Our last few days of celebrating Book Week certainly didn't disappoint. We were greeted by many more gorgeous characters each day, promoting curiosity, discussion and wonder amongst the children. Thankyou to all parents, carers and grandparents for your efforts in helping KVK's little learners enjoy such a fun filled week!

02.01.2022 Today both our Kindergarten groups travelled to the Wangaratta Traffic Safety School. We had a wonderful time. The children learnt about all the different road signs we see in our community and how to be safe when near roads. The children all had lots of time riding the bikes around the track. Before we headed home we went inside the classroom and spoke more about how to approach roads safely by using the approach (Stop, Look. Listen & Think). ... We enjoyed a picnic lunch before heading back to Kinder. The children had a lovely time and were great role models for our Kinder out in the community.
