War is still tearing through Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq; sexual and gender based violence ravages the Congo, Somalia; drought, wrecked livelihoods and conflict are forcing people out of South Sudan, of North Africa. 20,000 of them have entered Greece by 2019 and they need funds now more than ever. Most of them don't want to stay here. 08.01.2022 Since finishing the album with Nick and the boys I thought I would have written another by now Easy right? haha I was wrong it comes and goes it’s something I can’t force...just like nature, laughter or making love, you can’t fake it, when you do it right...there has to be meaning I can’t just pretend to feel so I haven’t tried to force it..... Since moving to Broome a lot has been influencing me... The sun, the beautiful flowers, the beach, the culture and the welcoming people..it really is a bit like Blazing Swan all the time around here.. I think it’s starting to come back... A reason to write.. The need to express something... The need to relate to others again.. I also ordered a keyboard so I can try to translate what’s in my mind.. It’s just been hard for me because I was so used to playing with Nick and I don’t play guitar or any instrument that well to be honest for me music is a shared moment between two or more...which I love in a way...but seems to be confusing for others My instrument is my body, my lungs, my thoughts, my words, being honest about my feelings, sharing a moment in time, connecting with another musicians too... which I think is powerful enough that’s why I never feel judged by those who say oh so you can’t play anything I simply reply I don’t have to I feel everything It’s coming from my frickin diaphragm You don’t go asking the birds to come out playing more instruments than tash sultana on a good day dooo ya ha.. I hope I find a musician soon who feels the same so we can share.. I sing because it’s the purest form of happiness I have ever felt in my life.. Thank you so much for listening it means more than you will ever know...
