20.01.2022 Our meeting tonight was varied. A focus on Mothers saw us all pay tribute to our Mum's by bringing along a picture of our mum's for other club members to correctly identify who Was whose. Some lovely stories of the photos told and memories shared. Bonnie our current VPE did a fabulous reading and baked a tasty date loaf for us all to share. Election of officers breezed through and now planning can commence for our Changeover Dinner meeting.

20.01.2022 Members of Kilcoy Toastmasters were so pleased to support and congratulate Chris throughout his time spent a Commonwealth Games volunteer. I am sure that our club members as well as all of our fellow toastmasters are looking forward to his fantastic insights and recollections. Here he is. Handsome and proud. "A Toastmaster may wear many hats, but...in their spare time, they wear many shirts as well."... Toastmaster Chris Parminter DTM (x2) was a volunteer at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. He is pictured here at the townhouse of fellow Toastmaster Sarafina Zubovic (Area 24 Director) who was kind enough to supply him with accommodation throughout the period of the Games. He was stationed at the Table Tennis at Oxenford, "working" in the Sports Equipment team which entailed duties involving the Practice, Match & Show Courts, as well as the Players Lounge. He was also honoured to be one of 60 volunteers selected (out of 15000 - that's 0.25% of the workforce) to perform at the Closing Ceremony assisting Guy Sebastian while he was singing his song "Bloodstone". He doesn't know how or why he was selected and while he is still curious, really doesn't want to know! It was a truly wonderful , fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable experience, following on from the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games (thanks Ron!), 2001 Brisbane Goodwill Games, and the 2000 Syd-er-ney Olympics & Paralympics (not too many people can say that they did both), which he also volunteered at. Chris has been a Toastmaster since January 2001 after joining the Bribie club. He met his future wife Dell, while they were Area Governors in 2004-2005. He is currently Secretary of Kilcoy, Chermside Communicators & Maroochydore clubs, "Interim" Vice President Education at Bracken Ridge which is a club in formation and Area 3 Director for 2017-2018. 19.01.2022 Successful Toastmasters' Area 3 Conference At Kilcoy Toastmasters Area 3 Director, Chris Woodard, organised the annual Area 3 Toastmasters' Conference held at on Sunday 16th September. Four Area 3 clubs attended the successful conference hosted by Kilcoy Toastmasters Club and held at the Anglican Church Hall. Clubs attending and competing on the day were Narangba, Bribie Island, Caboolture and Kilcoy. About fifty people enjoyed an excellent day of entertaining contests, fello...wship and good food. Compliments to Penny Bowles for the wondeful catering. The four contests on the day were the International Speech Contest, the Evaluation Speech Contest, the Table Topics Speech Contest and the Humorous Speech Contest. Winners of these contests go on to compete in the next level with winners from other Areas and can eventually even compete at the Toastmasters' International Conference, there coming up against the best in the world. Kilcoy members competing on the day were Vicki Higgins and Chris Parminter. Congratulations to Vicki who gained Third Place in the Evaluation Speech Contest. Congratulations also, not only the winners of the various contests. But to all the participants who got up on the stage to showcase their talents and entertain everyone with their stories. Kilcoy club members also undertook various roles on the day as Registerers and Welcomers, Timers, Tally Counters and Contest Chair. Toastmaster Clubs enable a person to develop public speaking and leadership skills through various club experiences. Well done everyone! Kilcoy Toastmasters Club continues to meet each 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, at St Michael's Catholic Church Hall, 24 Kennedy St, Kilcoy. You are welcome to come join us for a wonderful night of fellowship and fun, laughter and learning. For more details, please phone Chris or Dell on 5498 3224.

18.01.2022 On Wednesday night Kilcoy Toastmasters celebrated this 10 birthday anniversary of the club's charter. In our usual fuss free and country casual way our meeting was filled with decorations, fabulous supper treats, laughter, a bit of puzzlement with Chris Pariminter throwing a grammar test our way and joyous celebrations.

16.01.2022 Toastmaster Vicki Higgins took on the duty of Auctioneer for the wonderful selection of donated goods on offer for fundraising for Kookaburra Kids. A great lady supporting a local group Nuts & Bolts Peer Support Group. Connecting with her community, both with her talents and her heart.

12.01.2022 Hello everyone from Kilcoy Toastmasters. Membership dues all paid up and we are all motivated and ready for few cooler monthly meetings. Condensation on the window this morning and my morning tea on the veranda in the early morning sunshine very much appreciated. A wonderful time of year and our surrounding countryside is looking majestic. Maybe time to consider a afternoon drive up and then stay to check out our warm friendly club.

09.01.2022 As we all get excited about the joy of seeing family and friends and finishing off the last surprises and gift wrapping, remember to take time out to be kind to yourself. These holidays take time to really relax and leave the stress of work behind. Wherever you are, just sit and chill and enjoy the time you have just to be YOU. TRAVEL SAFE AND BE CONSIDERATE on our roads.

08.01.2022 Been a while since our club has spotlighted some of the adventures and cheeriness we all love.

03.01.2022 Last meeting for our small friendly club on Wednesday night. A wonderful cheerful meeting with some lively fun and entertainment.
