25.01.2022 I feel very fortunate that we were able to supply honey to the Malaysian agriculture minister. I wonder what he thought of the flavour as I assume it is a lot different to Malaysian honey.
25.01.2022 Hey there, i was going through my emails and came across a video about KI that Holly & Matt from Overland Travellers made. Was grateful to be part of it. Link is below if you would like to watch it. https://youtu.be/57H_Hha3E8M
25.01.2022 Well it’s been 3 months tomorrow since I was at Victor Harbour Farmers Market and the great news is that I will be there tomorrow. All the stores have been restocked and now I get to catchup with everyone there. Please come and visit and get some honey for your pantry and have a chat. Cannot guarantee when I will be back but hopefully January, it’s all up to the bees.
25.01.2022 We have had a great week this week. Not with the honey but with filming with Hayden Quinn. He does a show on channel 10 called Taste Australia. We spent the day with him and the filming crew. A great team, and then we topped it off with meeting up with Dan & Sue from the Figgery and Jamie and Julie from False Cape Winery. Should be showing around April.
24.01.2022 And a few more photos from before.
24.01.2022 Now this is a great idea that could make a huge difference detecting the deadly Varroa Mite. Currently we (Australia) are free of it. Anything to help is greatly appreciated. So I wonder what financial cost is involved?
24.01.2022 With these hot days it’s important to always make sure bees have access to water. If none nearby then provide it.
23.01.2022 Recently we were able to do some filming with Hayden Quinn and other wonderful producers/businesses on KI. This Sunday (today) we're on Taste of Australia with Hayden Quinn, False Cape Wines, The Figgery, & Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures. Its a KI special and will be a great episode. Make sure to tune in today at 4:30pm on Channel 10 to see what we get up to. If you miss it you can catch it later and previous episodes on http://bit.ly/TAHQtenplay #tasteofaustraliahq #travelsouthaustralia #visitsouthaustralia #TAHQ #falsecapewines #falsecape #tastingaustralia #kangarooisland @authentickangarooisland #authenticki @kimarineadventures @hayden_quinn
23.01.2022 Well summer is now officially over. It wasn’t much of a summer, many cold and wet periods. Because if this very little honey too. The mice are starting to find places to stay warm and it’s not a great idea to go into hives if you are a mouse.
22.01.2022 We had a great experience today going through a live hive and seeing the amazing things that bees do. Thankyou to George, Tammy, Peter, Connie and Dion. You helped make it fun for all of us. If anyone looking for a live hive experience visit our website www.kilivinghoney.com.au for more details.

20.01.2022 Today I worked on a house at island beach removing a hive from the floor. It looks like it’s been there a long time. After many hours I run out of sunlight. Hoping to finish off tomorrow.
20.01.2022 We have just added some washable Covid-19 face masks to our online shop. 4 colours and limited stock. We will be adding new bee designs in the future. www.kilivinghoney.com.au
17.01.2022 I’m really impressed with many of our Queens as they are laying out impressive frames of brood.
16.01.2022 We have moved some of our bees out onto the yakka, (grass trees). These yakka generally only flower after a fire. Now since half the island has been wiped out by fires there are literally millions of these flowering. Hopefully we get some honey from them.

14.01.2022 My grandson now has his own suit and loves coming out to play with the bees. He is fascinated by them and is very confident while handling the bees.
14.01.2022 I’m currently going through our hives and it’s lovely to see the bees bringing in large amounts of pollen. They need the pollen to feed the new bees currently developing.
13.01.2022 Hello, We are in crazy times, we were supposed to come to Adelaide on Friday so we could attend Victor Harbor Farmers Market on Saturday, but it has been cancelled due to the state shutdown for Covi-19. We still haven’t had enough honey to do deliveries, so hopefully by December we can restock all our wonderful stores and catch up with everyone in Victor. See you all soon.
11.01.2022 I really hope this can become a mainstream treatment. Finding if melittin can treat other cancers would make a huge difference. Once again, bees are amazing.
10.01.2022 Well we have been having many great experiences here @kilivinghoney. Many are family groups with young children and it is great to share with them all the amazing world of beekeeping. 08.01.2022 We will be at the Victor Harbor farmers market tomorrow morning from 8am. Due to almost running out of honey this is the first month in 10 years that we haven’t been able to deliver to all our wonderful stores. We only have enough to bring to the market so come on down and get some before we run out. We are hoping we will have some honey come in for next months delivery. #victorharborfarmersmarket
08.01.2022 Well it’s swarming season and nice to collect a few to build up numbers we lost over winter. This swarm was an easy one.

04.01.2022 Came across a very weak hive today and the Queen is so over active she is laying up to 8 eggs in a cell (should only be one). Will need to put her into a larger colony to help her out.
04.01.2022 Well a few areas on the island are starting to produce. It’s always nice to see some white wax, a good indication that they are bringing in honey.
03.01.2022 A lovely news story about how bees are helping relieve stress and give people a feeling of calmness. I know when i'm playing with my bees that it can be stress relieving.
02.01.2022 Our milking goats seem to have the life. Chewing the cud while hanging out on the deck. Enjoying the views.
02.01.2022 Just a heads up that we should be on landline this coming Sunday. Had a great interview with Claire Campbell from channel 2 a month or two ago to do with recovery from the fires.
01.01.2022 Well it has been an extremely busy week with all of our Beekeeping Experience times being booked out. Lots of washing suits but most of all I am loving the excitement each person has as we show them what happens in a hive.
