25.01.2022 Meet our youngest rider at 4yrs old, little Lulu completed the Widebay Creek ride with Anna & brother Parker. Group picture with Lulu, Anna, Parker & Tilly. Congratulations to our little KGHR COWGIRL on the trails. More pics to come of the open sporting & stockmans challenge.... 24.01.2022 With Covid 19 settling down we now would like to get going on the organising of the next Kilkivan Great Horse Ride 2021 MEETING DATE *Saturday 20/06/2020* Management meeting 9am (Committee Only)... General meeting 11am (All Welcome) At the Kilkivan Show Grounds On the agenda *Date to be set *Trails to be decided *Information regarding Insurance 2020-2021 *Events to be held at event *Main street parade to confirm *Stall holder in main street to be confirmed & showgrounds *Entertainment ie.......... polocross match, campdraft, team penning, stockmans challenge, pony club events, horse car boot sale, car & truck display. Please bring any other ideas to the meeting as we would love 2021 to bring a bundle of people to promote our beautiful Kilkivan Township and the horse ride. If you would like to become a member it's only $5.00 per year and we would like you to become involved or have a say for the next ride. 23.01.2022 General Meeting at the Kilkivan Show grounds Saturday 11th January 9am. Topic up for discussion is whether the 2020 ride will go ahead due to the current drought conditions. The next ride would then be the 40th Anniversary Ride. This will need to be ratified at this meeting. All welcome to attend and be involve in this discussion. 08.01.2022 New date for the meeting/AGM Saturday 26th September at 9am Kilkivan Show Gounds. The AGM was postponed due to Audit not being finallized. Please support the 35th Annual Horse ride by coming along or becoming a member for $5.00 per year. We are planning a huge event and hope to attract 1000 plus horse to march the main street. Every trail for 2021 are new and exciting and there is a 2 day ride also happening. For those who wanted a carriage trail we have this happening. So l...ots of new for everyone. We have booked a 6 peice band( The Wranglers) with fiddle and sax so you can rock your boots off after the ride and relax at the Tom Grady Camp Fire Concert. Also planning huge comps and entertainmenton the saturday and sunday so gather up your friends and come and support this event. Lets make it huge. Dates are 9th 10th and 11th April 2021. 07.01.2022 *****CANCELLED***** Kilkivan Great Horse Ride has been Cancelled for 2020. This was a unanimous decision made by the committee, members and people who attended the meeting on the 11/01/2020. We will be back bigger and better in 2021 for the 35th year with main street parade, carriage trail, stalls, displays and our Tom Grady Concert Friday and Saturday night and lots of family friendly entertainment. We would like to thank everyone that came and supported us at the meeting ...in making this difficult decision. With very unpredictable weather conditions, the drought, lack of water and high risk of fire danger. This could change with some land owners are not prepared to take this risk by letting us gaining access to private property's with such conditions also lack of supporters and volunteers that are able to assist with the running of the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride. If you are able to support the 2021 ride with volunteering to help please email your detail to [email protected] We will announce the KGHR 2021 dates Shortly. Please show your support for this event and invite you friends/clubs to take part and become spectators at the main street parade. Better still come for the weekend enjoy what Kilkivan has to offer. We understand some people will be disappointed. We are just as disappointed we could not continue with organizing this event for participants. Looking forward to seeing you in 2021. 04.01.2022 Soon we will be busy watermarking some gorgeous photos of you all. Our wonderful roving photographers Dimi Brodsky (Momentum Finance Solutions) & Zan Murphy were out & about attempting to have a pic of everyone! These two volunteers kindly provided photos that could be used to fundraise for KGHR coffers for 2022, & we cant thank them enough for their efforts!... Photos will be available for a nominal purchase price. There are some cracking photos!! please be patient, we've only just finished the pack up & cleaning of grounds & we are all exhausted :)
