17.01.2022 Betty was receiving a home care package from Killarney Memorial Aged Care (KMAC) for 3 years and when the time came to receive a higher level of care, the transition for Betty into our aged care residential facility was seamless! While still living at home, and as part of her package, Betty was transported to KMAC twice every week, to join in activities, parties and events. She was able to spend precious time with her friends who were already living at KMAC. When Betty moved in to KMAC, she already knew many of the staff, residents, and the layout and operations of the facility. It was a smooth transition for her :) Betty is a very special person to all staff, but the community staff are so glad that our journey with her continues.

07.01.2022 John is in the car heading off for some very special "me time". KMAC support their home care package clients with respite services. John and his wife are receiving 20 hrs a week in support and much of this is respite. It means that John can be a full time carer, while having time out to restore his energy, relax and enjoy life, with the supports from KMAC. John is able to take his time to shop, visit a friend or attend an appointment, knowing that his wife, who has dementia..., is safe and being well cared for by KMAC's compassionate, experienced and competent workers. John is a very special person; as a carer he is working 24/7, so appreciates and looks forward to the respite he receives. See more
06.01.2022 You may not recognise this person in all his PPE ! (personal protective equipment) Can you guess who it is? It is Tom and he mows the grass at Killarney Memorial Aged Care residential facility. Tom also mows the lawns and does garden maintenance for our Home Care Package clients, (the cost is included in their funding), to ensure their safety and security. Tom is wearing a face mask to be extra cautious to protect our residents/clients and be Covid Safe in these unpredictable times.

03.01.2022 Ben and Jane Durand have been volunteering for the last 15 yrs for our Meals on Wheels program. They have now retired and are receiving meals themselves, which is a wonderful endorsement for the quality of our meals! Flowers, chocolates and a huge thank-you is well deserved as an expression of our appreciation for the selfless act of volunteering they have given. All of our volunteers remain integral to the high level of care we provide to our residents/clients. These special people are kind, compassionate, committed and caring people, and we really do appreciate and value every one of them !
03.01.2022 We are not expecting an outbreak of COVID-19 here at KMAC! We are being proactive and taking precautions now to prevent an outbreak. Our staff have been getting specialised training. We have all the personal protective equipment we could need; the health and well being of our clients come first. Here is a picture of our community manager Sue testing our infection control skills.
02.01.2022 Jean is on a Home Care Package with Killarney Aged Care, and wants to be well and regain her independence in every way she possibly can. Jean is vision-impaired and is supported by KMAC staff to develop the special skills she needs to cook and prepare meals safely. Her goal is to prepare her own meals, with minimal assistance. We are fully supportive of Jean maintaining her independence. Good on you Jean !!!

01.01.2022 The meals cooked by the kitchen staff for the residents at Killarney Memorial Aged Care are so good that our Business Manager, Sarah, enjoys them too ! Everyone says that the meals are very tasty and nutritious! 4664 1488
