20.01.2022 Awesome Market day weather conditions with a terrific selection of stall holders. Thanks to all those who shared our posts and generated conversation around the Market day. We will keep encouraging talent to step up and perform at our talent tent, because we introduced our new food offering to the market this time Sonya did not have enough time to MC and get music organised as previous market days. Many thanks to the Petersons for stepping up to fill in for the vacant spots on the talent tent list, Ali for adding her vocals to a spot and all those who showed up to support the community event that is the Killarney Markets ......... hope to see more of you down there next Saturday 21 April as we celebrate a full weekend of wonderful community events with the Melrose Picnic Basket day on the Sunday.

19.01.2022 After a cold and frosty start, a small turnout of stallholders braved the elements for what was a glorious winter day at Canning Park. For Sonya and myself, it was the last weekend as organizers of the markets on behalf of Kapa. Thanks for all those that supported Sonya and me in our time as market co-ordinators Sonya's love for music and her contribution organizing the talent tent I am sure will be missed as it will not be continued.... This is just one of the Ideas we implemented as an attraction to promote the market day in an attempt to give the local or visiting entertainers a community platform to be heard, practice their art and entertain the market goers. Other business interests will conflict with our ability to continue with the commitment to the organization of the monthly running of the markets. Prompted by this economic viability consideration, in our decision to finish as the market organizers we have handed it back to the Killarney Area Promotions Association members to go forward with as they see fit. Please be aware of a date change for the July Markets made by the incoming KAPA member market organizer volunteer Barbera Cutmore to the Sunday, not the Saturday as is on the calendar. July is Bonfire night for Killarney with the town receiving thousands of visitors for what is a great event. Hopefully, we will see some of you at the bonfire night as customers of our potato and pancake food van offerings.

18.01.2022 Don't forget to share it around about the St Patricks day Killarney markets tomorrow. We have a great lineup of stallholders with a new food option Killarney grown Baked Potatoes with Killarney grown greens and Killarney grown onions. Make sure to come on down for music, fun and community. The Marketplace was an important part of a town's heart through the ages so let's celebrate and support the ethos of a vibrant community through participation.

16.01.2022 The Roaming Pig will be at the Killarney Bonfire night.. and at the Killarney Markets on the Sunday... Their menu sounds pretty good... We will be serving Slow Cooked PORK & BEEF on brioche buns with home made coleslaw, golden potato pommes, baked tortillas, CRACKLE and more....... Hope to see you there....

15.01.2022 This month Killarney has a full Market day weekend with the picnic basket day event being held on Sunday 22nd to follow up the Saturday 21st market. Please share and tell your friends to take a must do drive destination to Killarney to enjoy the community entertainment and local attractions.

14.01.2022 The 21st will be the Killarney Market day on Saturday an attempt to encourage visitors to make a weekend of it and enjoy the Picnic Basket Day held just outside of town at Melrose Station on Sunday 22nd. Last year 2000 + people enjoyed the entertainment KAPA the community organization that brings you the Markets will have a stall at the picnic basket day with giveaways and information .... so share with your friends about the great weekend In K Town

14.01.2022 The soundbite in the clip does not do Geoff the justice he deserves for the great entertainment he provided for the day. We really appreciated that he turned up and gave us such great music as his contribution to the Killarney community market day. This is the type of effort and community spirit that makes a successful event for all concerned.... The town of Killarney was the centre of attention for the weekend as the successful Killarney picnic basket day held at Melrose station followed on Sunday. KAPA as an organization had a stall at the picnic Basket day handing out promo bags with details of business and attractions in the area, we hope to see more visitors make the trip to enjoy the Gem of the Downs on future occasions.

11.01.2022 It looks like we will not be having the talent tent going next month as we are struggling to find people to have a go and participate. Due to the amount of setup and organization, it takes to get the markets set up, with organizing the talent tent and setting up our own stalls we run out of time doing it all. It's going to be a great weekend of the April Saturday 21st Killarney Market day as it is backed up on the Sunday with the Picnic basket day at Melrose station where KAP...A is having a presence promoting whats on in Killarney. We will set up some ambience music for the market day, but If you are keen or know someone who wants the opportunity to gain the experience of playing in public or are willing to organize or help with scheduling for the talent tent please get in contact with us we would love for you to get involved with our community run Market event.

Each month Killarney markets try to encourage you and the stall holders to get together in a wonderful event that seeks to unite a community as a community event. 09.01.2022 The dark clouds at the start of the day gave way to a wonderful Autumn day as a reduced number of stallholders set up to enjoy the weather. Other events on the day in the area saw a reduced attendance but those who made the effort to support the Killarney community markets had a great experience with members of the north coast caravan club enjoy all the Killarney had to offer. Local artist Donna pulled out her face painting skills and brightened up a few faces in her swashbuckling attire.

KAPA secretary notified members of a council initiative for discussion and input into our regions growth strategies. Council is inviting residents to take the future of the region into their own hands by taking part in the community engagement process and sharing their ideas for a bigger and better Southern Downs.
