24.01.2022 Some great pics of Tango and KLE Mad Robber (Robbie) from Oakford Equestrian Centre Jump Cross on the weekend :) The boys went far better than I had hoped they might, with both having their 1st outings under saddle (both formerly in harness). It wasn't planned for them to go out 'jumping' but with an event cancelled early in the week we looked for something else to do, and they both stepped up from trot poles on Wednesday and went out at 30cm on the Sunday. Tango is normall...y lacking in confidence, but after about 4 or 5 jumps he was boldly getting on with the job, and his 2nd round was even better :D this boy is only 6yo and is going to be a ripper pony for some lucky small rider. Robbie didn't actually 'jump' any jumps, just trotted between and stepped over calmly <3 only been trotting under saddle for about a month and such a lovely boy to take around the course. He even featured in a short video interview in the Start box. That tongue though! Both boys will be on the market soon ;) Thanks for the pics Vickiphotos - Show Horse & Event Photographer and Secret Womens Business WA and Vicki Yeates Photography
24.01.2022 It is so vitally important to give a horse a great foundation for life. This is why horses off the track that get a good basic re-education have a far better chance of having good long term homes :)
24.01.2022 There are some really awful horse bits out there :( This one will be joining my collection and will never go in a horse's mouth again. A horse is a flight animal - hurt it and it will run away (or try to). If you are having problems with a horse that is hard to hold, and you are going to stronger and stronger bits; please drop me a message and let's have a chat. There are a lot of options to explore rather than putting something like this in your horse's face :(
23.01.2022 More brand new gear that has been sitting in my lounge room that I can't use. All Full Size, but bonnets not big enough for the donkey ears around here, and I CANNOT use white at home, and use my business logo saddle pads when I'm out. 2 x AP white jump pads with butterflies (one has some yellowing) $60 for the two Ear bonnets $20ea, $30 for the two Not posting, pick up Oakford.
22.01.2022 Interesting day yesterday. (Post 1 - videos) Fire started a few kms from our property just before lunch. Wind was blowing it away from us, but we checked our Fire Plan, got the fire trailer ready, and stood by all afternoon and evening ready in case the wind changed. Waterbombers and Helitankers overhead upset one of the horses, and Saki sang along with the sirens :P Reports this morning is that it has burnt out 282 hectares so far and the freeway is still closed. More pics to come on 2nd post to show where we are located in comparison to the fire area

22.01.2022 Busy few days with a couple of new boys arriving on Friday. A cute blonde and a tall dark and handsome ;) Tango is an ex-harness pony spending a few days getting back under saddle; and... Robber/Robbie/Robbo is also getting under saddle after a successful career in harness. More details to come soon on this very good looking man :D

21.01.2022 Quality of the canter is so important for jumping. The 2nd exercise here is one of my favourites :)
21.01.2022 Fly season, yay... :( I was a bit excited during winter to see the coloured binder twine on the hay bales, and now you can see why :D Cheapest, longest lasting fly veils, just need a handful of string and a pair of scissors! Fold a length of twine in half and tie it to something solid, this is your browband. Work out how long you want the veil, then double it and cut a heap of string that long... Take two of your short bits, fold in half and loop them over the browband, pull tight Repeat - you don't need it too thick - for my big guys I used 12 Tie each end to your halter They will get a bit fluffy over time, but just grab out some more baling twine and make some more ! Have fun with your colours :D (You can thank me later for saving you hundreds of dollars in lost fly masks this summer :P )
21.01.2022 Fun day coaching yesterday at Kelmscott Adult Riding Club Perfect weather, and great to see so many riders happy and supportive, and keen to enjoy their horses :) Pics thanks to Secret Womens Business WA

20.01.2022 Update on KLE Mad Robber (Robbie) 1st ride he was nervous, 2nd ride he was very tense, so wound it back to keep it positive. Have spent each day since laying across his back between his yard and paddock, or wandering about the arena. Carrying my weight on his back and me flopping about bumping his sides, waving my arms and patting his ears from above. Today I put a leg over and we walked around the roundyard quietly bareback. Not my normal preference for what is possibly on...ly the 6th time this horse has ever been sat on, but in reading this boy; it was what he needed, so it's what we did. Will progress back to a saddle, and once his teeth are done this week, will find a bit he likes :) See more
19.01.2022 This little cutie will be on the market soon <3 13.2h 6yo palamino gelding Tango was originally started under saddle, then has spent 2 yrs in Combined Driving competing and attending clinics across Victoria and WA. Great to travel, camping at events, and out and about on roads or in the bush Sadly the harness world is not for him, and he is back under saddle and looking for a pony club type home. ... He has spent over Christmas going to the beach, being ridden bareback, and going on bush rides, and is now at KLE working in the arena on flat work and starting some poles. He will be looking for someone confident who can continue his education, as he can be a bit of a scardey cat sometimes, but once he understands he gets on with the job :) Lovely little guy who wants to please, looks stunning, and will be an amazing pony for some lucky rider :) Do you know someone who could be Tango's next dance partner? (Pic is in his driving bit, now goes in a simple snaffle) See more
19.01.2022 Results and pics from our recent Standie Breed Show outing :) Miss (KLE) Molly (All Aussie Girl) took out her Hunter Class and came home with a good handful of ribbons :D

17.01.2022 Get involved peoples :)
16.01.2022 When your 'pony' comes to tell you that she has a boo-boo and would like some attention please... You cannot hear it over the sheep, but she was wuffling to me to get my attention. Swollen near hind, no idea what she has done :( I headed down the stables for a hose and she came down and stood for the hose and some cooling clay, then put herself to bed in her box... who needs ropes :)... #MollytheStandie

11.01.2022 Interesting day yesterday. (Post 2 - photos) Fire started a few kms from our property just before lunch. Map shows ...where we are located (purple spot) in comparison to the fire area See 1st post for video of water bombers flying overhead See more
11.01.2022 As I stood here splicing my leadrope back together (thanks for chewing Saki), I wondered how many horse people can splice these days? It seems to be another of the old horsemanship skills that have been forgotten :( Would anyone be interested in a session on splicing and maybe some commonly used knots? Fix a leadrope, make a leadrope, replace a clip...... (And yes this is not the prettiest of straight slices, but the fingies were frozen :P )
11.01.2022 Standie Breed Show today :) Miss Molly won the Show Hunter, finally worked out how to do a selfie, and had to roll all the 'pretty' off as soon as she got home <3
10.01.2022 Excuse me Waiter, but there is dog hair in my breakfast... New boy Robbie not happy about Saki hopping into his feedbin
10.01.2022 <3 <3 Molly is in love <3 <3 Robbie is just "Really really ridiculously good looking" #BlueSteel #Zoolander
10.01.2022 Teefies Day today :D KLE Mad Robber and KLE Altitude getting their teeth done. Robbie was such a good boy and hopefully will be happier with a bit now :) After my dentist apt this morning, and then 5 horses being done, I think Bel and Saki are nervous that they are next :P Thanks Charlie Henman for always being so calm with my 'ponies', no crush, no sedation, no drama, and Robbie is the smallest at 16.1h...
09.01.2022 People often ask "How do I make my horse's coat shine?" And everyone has a different opinion on what products to use. Well here is an old horseman's product that never fails. When applied a few times a week your horse will absolutely glow As modelled by KLE Molly (OTT STB All Aussie Girl) who is not clipped and just had this applied for 20min in preparation for a breed show this weekend ;) Picture of special applicator in comments
08.01.2022 Standardbred State Champs today :) KLE Molly (All Aussie Girl) and KLE Mad Robber both in the in-hand, and Robbie also in the Dressage. Started to realise what I had bitten off when started prep yesterday...two horses to present... oh-oh ! Had to pinch some mane hair from Kali to finish Robbie's plaits as he was a little short in one spot :P Huge day with 11 in hand classes, then a ridden Dressage test.... Molly kicked off with a 3rd in her Mare class, then Robbie took a 1st in his Gelding class, a 3rd in Showhorse over 15.2h, then Molly got a 4th in the Show Hunter over 15.2h, and I finished the in-hand with a 2nd in Senior Handler :D It's actually really really hard to get two horses and a person all with their feet right, eyes open, and ears pricked at the same time! (The deleted pics from that lot were shockers :P ) Then a quick drink break, change of clothes for me, and saddle on for Robbie, and off for our Dressage Test. Robbie was a bit overwhelmed to start with, being his 1st competition off the track and never having been in a warm up arena, but started working really well until he saw the Harness competitors... seriously? He won over $130k in harness racing himself...? Managed to get it all back together for the test and I was SOOOO wrapt with him. Yes, our circles weren't circular, and our straight lines weren't real straight, but he got into it and showed some really nice work, including a final centreline and halt that I can't stop smiling about :D For a boy at his 1st competition, who has never been in a Dressage arena before: I'm stoked that he got a few 6.5s and placed 3rd :D Some very tired ponies had a bath to wash all the 'pretty' off, and Molly had to wallow in the dirt when she got home to finish off :P Thanks so much to Bevan for being our strapper for the day, I totally couldn't have done it without you, even if you can't navigate and took us to the wrong place this morning :P Thanks also to Stephan who videoed our dressage test (will post link in comments) Thanks to Ovarit Jumps for sponsoring, and supplying a set of Soft Poles for the winner of the Elementary Ridden tomorrow :) #MollytheStandie #KLEMadRobber See more
07.01.2022 This boy is now ready for his new home :) What a stunner ! KLE Mad Robber - aka Robbie - aka Robbie Williams, not only won over $130k on the track, he also has superstar good looks <3 ... Basics for a competition home are all in place, working into a soft contact, moving off the leg. Has even been out to an event and did everything that was asked of him. Has been on float and truck, great for farrier, has had teeth done in October. Lovely boy to have around - and did I mention damn good looking? Already has his RWWA OTT Passport Extra notes: has never paced under saddle, does canter, is approx 16h, gelding.
07.01.2022 Great fun commentating all day today on the live stream for Bunbury Horseland CCN Event at Capel :D With around 270 entries, and up to 5 horses on course at once, it certainly kept us on our toes ! Great event with a great team from Capel Horse and Pony Club Tip from the commentator: if you or your horse's name are not able to be looked at and easily pronouced, it will likely be said wrong... we try, but with seconds to spot you, see your number, look your number up on the competitor list, say your name and your horse's name and say something about you as you travel around the Xc course, things happen really quick and if we can't 'see it and say it' we kinda have to wing it!
07.01.2022 Only 2 timeslot left for tomorrow (Friday 11th) ! Coaching or arena hire Fully insured PM to book!... (Available most Tuesdays and Fridays)

This is our arena 10min after a lot of rain this morning and then a major downpour :) Still some spots available tomorrow for training rounds and coaching. Specialising in OTT, young horses, and problem solving. PM for bookings See more
06.01.2022 Full arena drag and rebuild of jump course :) There was a bit more than 'a branch' to trim off the tree overhanging the arena apparently... nearly lost Bel !
06.01.2022 Got all 3 of my current OTTs registered - have you done yours yet? You don't have to specifically go take pics - if you have some competition or home pics where brands and markings are clearly showing (both sides) that's enough :) I managed to get all of mine from pics I already had on social media !
05.01.2022 KLE Mad Robber (Robbie) being interviewed while standing in the XC start box at his 1st off the track outing. And just after a small pony without a rider came flying past us...
05.01.2022 Tango wants to know if his butt looks better when he wears his rug like this? His Stylist is Miss Keesha from the paddock next door...
05.01.2022 The other type of OTT <3 Greyhounds make great pets for horse properties. Come out for a run when you do the horses, then happy to sleep for the rest of the day :D Give the ladies at GAP a call and they will match you with a long-doggo that will fit your world :)
04.01.2022 Sounds about right...
04.01.2022 Absolutely, and it takes a lot to undo the traditional methods of training. People still 'bag out' and 'tie back' horses when 'breaking' them in...and because it has 'always been done that way' they see no reason to change :( I don't want to ride a 'broken' horse, I want a horse that has been 'started'. I have found that Broken horses are so much harder to Re-Start as you have to wind back the damage and start again with trust and softness. Some will always go back to reacting with fear thought their lives no matter how much work we do - someone 'broke' them and they are broken :( We Start, Re-Start, and Back horses at KLE using non-violent methods.
03.01.2022 When you are really ridiculously good looking... ...but the paparazzi just get 'those' kinda pictures...
02.01.2022 Apparently all the cool kids are only wearing one belly strap now...
02.01.2022 So worth a watch again (grab a tissue 1st though...) This one is scenes from the movie set to the full poem - just awesome... https://youtu.be/jo51fIu_fjk
02.01.2022 Sneak peek from today at Standardbred State Champs for Robbie's fan club... #KLEMadRobber ...now to find him a show home ;)
