24.01.2022 Yesterday my Number 2 child broke his Thumb (small fracture) giving another child a high 5! Now that is pretty clever! I love it when people come to me with an injury and tell me the ridiculous way they acquired it!

23.01.2022 I hear this all the time in the clinic. No...... youre not too old. Nor does age cause pain. Get moving....at whatever your capacity is and then slowly increase it until you get where you want to go. There will be bumps along the way but you CAN work through them.

16.01.2022 My incidental exercise has slowed through March...... my husband said he was starting a running training leading up to winter sport.... I decided to join him. I procrastinated all morning....waited to the sun was right over head and did it...... 5 min warm up..... 30 seconds fast x5 with a 1.5 min slow in between and finished with 5 mins walk/jog at the end. Done...... now I have to do that again on Wednesday!

Surprisingly we know that these 2 things are directly related but the science is complicated (very complicated) but evolving everyday. Exciting times in the world of pain. Thoughts and memories are capable of initiating an immune response! Tissue damage in the periphery also initiates an immune response! So many things which can all influence Pain.

04.01.2022 After all my posts on exercise I decided to take my own advice....... I went for a run! A short run but definately a longer than no run at all. I struggle with self motivated exercise despite knowing I need to do it. Time is a huge factor but that is a lame excuse. Every little bit is helpful even if it is only 5 minutes.

03.01.2022 Today I found out I had lost a long term client. I saw her every week for at least 7 years maybe more. I was more than her physio..... I was also her friend. I will miss her very much. She loved my roses, she loved gardening and recently gave me a collection of succulents. She told me that she could get me more if they didnt survive. Well now she cant so they must survive. She also gave me a bottle of Tassie bubbles for Christmas which she loved. I will drink it in her memory. RIP Deb.

02.01.2022 Some info on our kids in sport! Kids should only do as many hours per week in organised sport as they are old. The should not exceed the ratio of 2:1, hours organised sport to free play. ... Should only play each sport for up to 8 month per year.
