25.01.2022 SAFETY FIRST: another 11 station crew attended the firearms awareness training last week.

25.01.2022 FULL-TIME DOGGERS HAVE IMPACT The Pilbara Regional Biosecurity group says a 12-month trial employing three doggers in the region has helped curb the rising numb...er of wild dogs in the north. In 2019 more than 300 dogs have been trapped or shot, and doggers have also laid out around 70 thousand targeted baits across 15 stations in the region. Executive officer, Bill Currans, says its the first time in 15 years theres been full-time doggers employed on the ground in the Pilbara. He estimates between $3-5 million worth of stock is lost across the Pilbara alone every year from wild dog attacks. The Pilbara RGB has put in a proposal to the State Government for $250,000 additional funding, to be matched by pastoralists, to put a long-term dogging program in place.
