Aboriginal primary and high school students are invited to enter a competition to design a new logo for the Aboriginal Knowledge Circle. There are two categories:... > Aboriginal Primary School students in NSW > Aboriginal High School students in NSW Students must be under the age of 18 years and Parents must provide their permission for their child to enter! Students need to submit their original artwork as either a digital or painted artwork, with the size no bigger than 20cm x 10cm. Competition closes on Friday 15 January 2021. Kimberwalli and Higher Ground Hip Hop Workshops held a Hip-Hop Songwriting Workshop with 6 young people who came together to learn the foundations of Songwriting in Hip-Hop. These young people conveyed their experiences of being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander into their own song titled ‘It Don’t Matter’.... Kimberwalli are launching a Pre-Trade Construction Course in collaboration with Walan Miya (Aboriginal owned Registered Training Organisation) & Yalagan Group (Aboriginal Labour Hire Recruitment Company). The program is targeted at Aboriginal Community members, Job seekers & 16+ year olds (unenrolled from school to meet eligibility criteria) who have an interest or passion in Construction.... It will run over a 4 week period starting next Tuesday 18th August, 2020 at Kimberwalli. At the completion of the program there will be potential employment opportunities for participants. This is a great career opportunity for community, as you will receive wrap-around support and mentoring throughout the duration of the program & post-program. 05.01.2022 Kimberwalli is so excited to share that together with Higher Ground Workshops we have partnered to offer a Hip-Hop Songwriting Program. Gomeroi Hip-Hop artist Monks will facilitate these workshops to learn and understand the elements of creating music; from laying down beats to recording a song. This program will run over the School Holidays for 6 sessions from 10:30AM 12:30PM on these dates:... 1. Monday, 28 September 2020 2. Tuesday, 29 September 2020 3. Wednesday, 30 September 2020 4.
