24.01.2022 Thank you Sunshine Coast Hinterland Tours and HaveLippyWillTravel Tours for a/ inviting me to be a part of your Maleny Art Tour and b/ creating a fabulous Art Tour event that celebrated everything beautiful, local, delicious and creative across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Here's to more Australians exploring their own states and country and enjoying and supporting everything our own country has to offer :-)

21.01.2022 Today was the perfect day for eco-printing ... hot summer outside, cool air-con inside, bright sunny skies. Lots of delicious surprises with eco-printed magic on silk and paper. I do love the mystery and surprisingly unpredictable nature of this process. This is the last eco-printing workshop for 2020. Thank you ladies for a lovely day!

18.01.2022 Who else likes to take the long way home? Slowly meandering along back-roads, delaying the start of a working week or extending the delights of a lazy Sunday afternoon drive ... I've written about my most recently finished reduction linocut print "The long way home". Click through if you're interested in seeing the layers and reading about about its inspiration.

18.01.2022 It was a wonderful weekend of workshops. Gel Plate printing yesterday, linoprinting 101 today. It is so much fun to watch students carve their image then play with colour and other linocut blocks at printing. Today was another gorgeous day in Paradise Thank you ladies

17.01.2022 I just gave myself a week away. A self-created Artist in Residence retreat. Just me. And my art supplies. So, after my initial surrendering to my mind and body screaming at me for some rest and respite after packing the car and heading north ... after some sleep and walking and reading I’ve pulled out one of my Gelli plates and had me some holiday gel plate printing fun!

15.01.2022 A different kind of fun was had in the studio this week ... there is a new project on the go. Very excitement Thank you Sam Hagen from #thehumanstory.film. Looking forward to seeing the next stage :-) Moonshaker Media www.thehumanstory.film @thehumanstory.film

15.01.2022 The sun was out, beaming and hot, and then it wasn't. So nice to have one of those old-fashioned summer-afternoon thunderstorms that we used to get so many years ago. It definitely cooled the day down. We sun-printed some great cyanotype prints yesterday - it was a fabulous day. Exploring and playing and experimenting with this deliciously blue and simple process. Thank you ladies for a fabulous day. Can't wait to see what you continue to print

14.01.2022 a weekend of workshops - Sunday, Day 2 - gelatin plate monoprinting ... what is there not to love about this process? We captured delicious botanical details with paint, paper and plants. Release the attachment to the outcome and give yourself permission to play - thats what this process calls for. It is so exciting to have started with 2021 workshop calendar :-)

14.01.2022 What a perfect day for a cyanotype workshop ???? So glad I moved it from yesterday with the forecast heavy rain and today clearing [insert sarcasm emoji]. It will be patchy today so we’ll still get exposures done, just longer. We need the rain but I think I would have preferred or it to be yesterday, and predicted til late Friday evening. Oh well. It will still be. Fun day

13.01.2022 Who can remember the last time they received a handwritten note, letter, postcard, whatever, from someone for no other intention than to say hello and share some joy and connection? . A couple of years ago I participated in a postcard print exchange. The task was set to print a small edition of postcards, then send one to each member of group each season. Postcards flew from Maleny to Tasmania to England. . I finally found a way to take them from hiding in a drawer to books to share and enjoy. 12.01.2022 I share a lot about my linocut work in my blog I think its time I share some of my approach to gelatin plate monoprinting ...

11.01.2022 Interested in letterpress printing? Deckled Edge Press, Maleny, are running two 'Introduction to Letterpress Workshops' in October - Metal Type on Saturday 24 October - Wood Type on Sunday 25 October Check here for details - https://decklededgepress.com/workshops/ I attended their Wood Type workshop a month-ish ago and LOVED IT!! Fiona and Barry are generous tutors, and their studio space is full of magical letterpress delights.

11.01.2022 Inky fun was had be all at this weekend's reduction linocut workshop. Lots of new learning, plus extending already learned skills with 2 returning students. I love seeing people push themselves and enjoy the results of what they create. Its magic how one little unassuming piece of lino can yield such different results. Inky bliss :-)

10.01.2022 a weekend of workshops - Saturday, Day 1 - eco-printing on paper and silk ... OH FUN! It is sooooooo good to be running workshops again. The season kicked off with eco-printing. Everyone created beautiful work! Grevillea, silky oak, eucalyptus, passionfruit, sheoak, bracken, bleeding heart, rose leaves and others that I just can't remember. The mysterious, unpredictable, variable and magical process of eco-printing.

10.01.2022 The more you look, the more you see! ... How fabulous do these look!! I'm super excited to share some gel plate monoprints created by students who are working through my new online gelatin plate monoprinting workshop. There is a private Facebook group that we share work into - and it is so exciting to see the results. If you're interested in this workshop, click here for full details - https://bit.ly/2Q6YGvS I am used to working with students in-person when I teach, so to create an online course but not see the student's work has been hard for me. it is sooooo exciting to see what is posted into the Facebook group. And even more exciting to see people learn more about the simple, calming, exciting, spontaneous, playful and therapeutic process of gelatin plate monoprinting.

10.01.2022 wild, windy, wet, squally, rainy, chilly ... what better way to spend a summer Sunday than gel plate printing :-) I had enough dry botanicals in the studio to get me printing. 35 prints in 3.5 hours. No intention or attachment to any outcome... just surrender to the moment and enjoy the process. Heaven. I had to stop when the plant materials we a little too saturated with paint and it was too wild outside to forage for more.

09.01.2022 Note to self ... we all need these little reminders ... . Each card is gelatin plate monoprinted then letterpress printed. The text is the same across multiple cards, the background of each and every card is different. And the more you look the more you see. . These little treasures and more will be available for sale at my upcoming open studio (20-21 March).... . More ‘notes to self’ to come See more

08.01.2022 my favourite kinda photo

08.01.2022 Do you get stuck or confused about what, how or where to arrange visual elements on your paper or canvas? I've written a blog post sharing some tips about colour and composition. It's been written in the context of gelatin plate monoprinting - but you can take elements of what I've written and apply it to other visual art categories :-)

07.01.2022 Inky Fingers getting back to printmaking :-) - https://mailchi.mp/b2ebccf/kimherringe-inkyfingers-20200719 PLEASE ENJOY a catch-up on studio busines ... recent works, some gel plate printing tips and exciting news about my new online learning portal with its first workshop ...

03.01.2022 Metal plate etching, with aluminium plates ... non toxic and accessible. We had a fun, albeit jammed packed and busy, learning about etching aluminium metal plates. We even managed to squeeze a little time for toning/tinting our plates. Thank you for a fabulous day ladies. A well earned evening off now

03.01.2022 A few weeks ago I announced that I was launching my first online workshop (gelatin plate monoprinting) ... it launched on Monday this week, and now with over 70 enrolments, I couldn't be happier FOR SO MANY REASONS I love this printing process, and its is so exciting to be able to share it in a platform that can reach further afield than my local geographic area. BUT ... this is more than 'just' a workshop. I have built my own learning portal to host this (and more in th...e future) workshop. I think I have found a way to take everything that I love (and my students love) about my studio and share it online. Nothing can beat that real, in-person experience, but with geography and that darn virus of a thing, I hope this comes a pretty close second. THANK YOU to everyone who has enrolled. I am so excited to be sharing this process with you, and absolutely loving seeing what you're printing in the FB group. WATCH THIS SPACE for more workshops coming over the coming months :-) See more

02.01.2022 Rain did not stop our cyanotype workshop today! Despite next-to-no direct sunlight, lots of cloud cover and about a 30 minute torrential downpour, we printed up a storm. It was high and dry inside, and the weather helped us create results we can't get in full-sun days. Thank you Ladies and Gent for a fabulous day, and thank you for your patience with the weather :-)

02.01.2022 Check out this fabulous collection of gel plate prints !! Today was the last in-person gel plate monoprinting workshop for the year. So much colour. So much printed detail. So many possibilities. I will be running this workshop again next year, several times. But if you can't make it to an in-person workshop, or can't wait, check out my online workshop.
