21.01.2022 Really pleased with this gelding, Kimmell Kamikaze On Ice such a nice type I think.

19.01.2022 Our second foal for the season a very long awaited Bay Tobiano colt, cannot knock the smile from my face Kimmell Scotch Thistle

19.01.2022 Indian is currently getting a few miles under his girth, he has led a rather spoilt life to date, time to do some work big fella!

16.01.2022 Busy busy busy so it’s been a while between posts. Since I last posted we have purchased another gorgeous Shetland stallion. Craigmillar Snowdrift, a lovely cremello boy. Such a beautiful friendly nature, he’s so lovely to have around. We look forward to a few foals by him next season.

16.01.2022 Indians first colt born this morning

16.01.2022 With one foal on the ground we are eagerly awaiting the second, due any time after the 8th of August, Bandits second foal for us. Then we will have a short wait as our third foal is due in September, our first foal by Frankie our lovely Cremello boy. Then there’s a bit of a gap, with two more foals due around December. One by Bandit and one by Frankie. Three of our mares

15.01.2022 Feeling very grateful that our dam has still got some water in it, the terrible dust and heat day to day is depressing but we’ve got it better than some who have dry dams. The ponies are coping well and certainly don’t look like they are enduring a drought that’s for sure.

12.01.2022 Our third and final foal for the season a smokey black colt, I had hoped for another dilute colour but he’s a lovely healthy boy so no complaints (well maybe a little one)

11.01.2022 With a great deal of thought and some soul searching I came to realise I can’t give up on my dreams, I’ve come to far to throw in the towel. The drought conditions are really tough and there are days you ask yourself can I really continue to do this? The answer for me is yes, getting my head around the logistics was the key, be smarter with feed and plan long term. We are very lucky that hay isn’t scarce here although at times it is a bit pricey, luckily Shetlands run on the ...smell of hay (almost anyway) so we’ll be right. I must thank the person who always supports me, he believes in me and does so much to help me around our property and I try to always thank him for the things he does as he does them so he knows I appreciate him, Kim Hewerdine is a good man and Im ever so grateful he’s my man . We have 5 mares here we will be breeding with this season, another mare will hopefully join us in the near future just got to get a few things sorted first. Cloud, Nessy, Safari, Lucy & Tully. 11.01.2022 One of the farm hands helping with afternoon rounds down with the Shetty mares This photo though, it’s made the semi finals of the Bush Kids calendar competition- you just gotta click the pic and like it to give Buddha boy your vote

10.01.2022 Indian is a magnificent horse, his nature is second to none, his foals to date have been BIG and beautiful just like him. He is running with Ducati as his paddock mate and hopefully they produce another stunning foal next year. In the new year we will geld the big fella, our breeding program is coming to an end and I want Indian to enjoy life, he should be ridden more and be able run with other horses when he isn’t working, as a gelding he can do that.

09.01.2022 Nothing makes me smile more or feel happier than watching my grand children riding my home bred ponies.

04.01.2022 Well what can I say, a dream came true with the arrival of this beautiful big colt, it seems like forever that I have wanted and waited for a bay & white, can’t stop smiling and can’t stop looking at him Kimmell Scotch Thistle

04.01.2022 We have also been given the opportunity to have this lovely stallion on lease, can hardly wait to see some foals on the ground by him.

03.01.2022 Many people who buy ponies from us keep in touch and tell us how wonderful they are. I love hearing how well the ponies are going and seeing them thriving in their new homes. Every now and then we are offered one of our ponies back, we rarely say no to this. Recently we were offered Kimmell Wandering Rose, a gorgeous mare by one of our older stallions Darrewin Santee and out of a favourite mare Scotchalot Champagne. Rose has been with a lovely family and has been going really... well under saddle for them. A kind gentle mare who has already settled in here with us and it does my heart good to see her in the paddock once again. See more
