03.01.2022 I made a big red flower and petticoat from old tattered Momi(silk. Momi is a thin silk fabric which is dyed with Turmeric and sufflower color traditionally used for linings or underwear for female Kimono in olden days in Japan. People believed that wearing red color keeps their body warm and protect from misfortune. This red Momi was very special thing for women. Nowadays Momi is very precious . Its is hard to see newly manufactured Momi so I didn’t wanna waste this tat...tered but still beautiful fabric. So I sew those fabric together and made a petticoat . I wish this beautiful garment protect me from all misfortunes .

01.01.2022 Normally vintage Japanese kimonos are very slender because Japanese women in olden time were very small. So sometime The width of your purchased kimono does’t fit western curvy figure , but don’t worry ! it happens so often! And you can still enjoy it in contemporary way! The second photo is the example : I wore 7years old size kids kimono and it was way too small for me. If your kimono doesn’t cover the blue marked part, it could be difficult for you to do traditional kimono style ( Kitsuke) . 27(12-14 ) ?
