05.01.2022 Enjoying watching the pollinators in my veggie patch

04.01.2022 Super excited this morning, whilst wondering around my veggie patch I heard this loud buzzing sound coming from my lime tree and then spotted this glorious bee After looking at my natives bees of Queensland chart I realised it was a female Great Carpenter Bee. This is the first time I've ever seen one. It's the largest bee in Australia, 15mm-24mm in length!

02.01.2022 I'll be collecting seeds from my desert roses very soon

01.01.2022 Another wonderful sight in the veggie patch today...for the first time I spotted a female Peacock Carpenter Bee. It burrows a tunnel 30cm long into grass trees or soft wood of trees like banksias. It is 1.6 - 1.8cm long. I've seen many pollinators such as bees, hornets and butterflies on my purple flowering basil. I also have alysumm, dianthus, gazanias, petunias, salivias, snapdragons and violas in flower for the pollinators to collect nectar from. There is also a water bowl out for them
