25.01.2022 Congratulations to the many involved in getting the Business Disability Awards of Australia (Toowoomba and Darling Downs region) to this standard of significance! Voted the Toowoomba Community Event of the Year at the Australia Day Awards. Honoured to represent the Awards on the weekend, pictured here with Greg Luck (Event Partner - Help Employment and Training), Co-Founder Paul Wilson and his beautiful daughter, Jazzy Wilson. This year we will celebrate Awards No 8 and also welcome the Inaugural Brisbane Event. #inclusion #change #commUNITY

25.01.2022 I have loved getting to know Nadia, a kind, thoughtful, highly intelligent and community minded woman. We serve on an advisory committee together and having a seat at the table alongside Nadia has given me a greater understanding on many subjects including Autism; (Nadia tells me she was diagnosed with Autism just 4 years ago). In Nadias words For me, being diagnosed with Autism has been hugely positive. I have been able to get so much support for some of my challenges an...d I now recognise theres nothing wrong with me; Im just a little different to average. Well I can say this Nadia, Im grateful youre different to the average for so many reasons! Thank you for your friendship and the wisdom of your lived experience! #celebratingwomen #inclusion #commUNITY #differencemaker #toowoomba #womanofstrength #autism #ability #seektounderstand #gratitude

25.01.2022 Its not the events in life that determine how you live, its your perception of those events. Just one of the incredibly powerful lines spoken by Dylan Alcott during his keynote speech last night at SU Qlds annual Frontline Fundraising Dinner at Howard Smith Wharves. Im delighted to share my expertise freely with the SU Qld team to support Chappys. Last year some 580 000 caring conversations took place between students and Chappys. As they say; it takes a village! #ohchappyday #commUNITY #frontline

23.01.2022 John Newton once wrote I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what I hope to be in another world; but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am. Todays photo a special gift for Nat & Tiff at #BaseServices. Guys I know you share my Maxwell passion. #togetherwecan #gratitude #courage #ibelieve #onedecisionaway

23.01.2022 1000 years of experience volunteering! That was the answer I received when I asked Jeff Howard (Regional Manager SU QLD) how many years people had been giving their time to support Chappys in schools as we shared morning tea with a small group at Sunnybank recently. I was blown away. 1000 years from the 75 people that sat in that room having a quiet cuppa and a scone. One man had dedicated over 60 years of service! ... #perspective #humility #gratitude

23.01.2022 It was great to be part of the official launch of the 2019 Homeless For A Week fundraising initiatives to support Base Services! 21.01.2022 Ian Hyman OAM is the CEO of Hymans Valuers and Auctioneers. For a number of years now hes been hosting a charity lunch annually in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with some wonderful organisations like Help Enterprises being one of the beneficiaries. Following his son Alistairs diagnosis with Down Syndrome at birth, Ian said he knew he had to get involved in Disability Support and that he has! For 26 years now hes helped to raise over $15 million for various charities and hes been a strong voice on many boards. It was really great to have one-on-one time with Ian this week to chat about how we can work together in 2020. Thank you Ian. #purpose #passion #changeforgood #whatcanyoudo #imagine #heart #truth

20.01.2022 Hopefully this weekend you’re getting the chance to take a break from ‘all things work’ to enjoy those that are most precious to you. Relax and revive! #EasterIs #Reset #Refresh #Renewal

20.01.2022 Im so humbled to have been the official Master of Ceremonies for Access 2019 Conference in Sydney. It was an incredible experience! Over 36 speakers across 2 days including the Hon Stuart Robert MP (Minister for the NDIS) plus an excursion review day at Cockatoo Island, an exhibition launch and a gala dinner with the incredible and inspiring Ben Felten as keynote. Special side note: it was transforming to be in your audience Dylan Alcott OAM...what an incredible Australian ...ambassador you are! 17.01.2022 It was a pleasure to witness so much passion in the one room last night at Escape The Ordinary at the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport. Its always very generous of people to give their time to pop in a photo with you but always at the top of my list is to learn, grow, support, encourage and really connect. Congratulations to John Wagner and the many involved to create a wonderful event that signifies great collaboration. 17.01.2022 I wish I could put into words what I experience when I’m invited to be a Host, a Speaker, a Radio Presenter or MC .... I’m actually choking up trying to. For d...ecades now this has been a fundamental part of who I am and how I serve. It truly comes right from my core. Decades of experience behind a microphone has come about through the blessing, guidance and support of many and a heartfelt desire to be a voice (especially with my NFP commitments), to the often voice-less. I’m very aware of the most serious of consequences of Covid19 in our current environment and, on that note, I want to say Andy and I are safe and well, and I am incredibly grateful to be able to report that. Our livelihoods, like yours no doubt, have not been exempt from challenges at this time though. If I can use my skill sets, and I have a couple lol, to also help you, a business or community organisation through this time, so we all can afford the finer things in life (like toilet paper); please call on me. I wish you well. Photo - with Samantha Moir #inthistogether

15.01.2022 David Janetzki thank you for your kind words in Parliament today. Your support is always so valued and I know for sure that you would have been on The Bus Ride Of A Lifetime had your schedule allowed. #commUNITY #inclusion #choice #change #thebusrideofalifetime

14.01.2022 A huge thank you to Matthew Newton at The Chronicle for your constant support. We are nearly SOLD OUT so be quick to get your tickets. And; to my dear friends in business, there was a little bit more to that quote lol but you get me; I know how hard you work, how much you put in; the inference was that you might be able to run the show from a larger (more comfortable) seat during the travel time so....you wont be away from the action as long as it seems. As always, as lead...ers were always looking for ways to make things doable! Cant wait for MONDAY! #thebusrideofalifetime

14.01.2022 A fabulous Day 1 of Changing Lives, Changing Communities! Once again a fantastic, collaborative environment and another positive step towards better community inclusion. Cant wait for tomorrow! #inclusion #commUNITY #takeyourplace #QDN #Toowoomba #Ability

13.01.2022 Ben Felten is the worlds fastest Blind Motorcycle rider; achieving a Guinness World Record at some 272 Klm/h on a salt lake in outback SA IN 2018. (Hard to fathom I know; the Sunday Night Doco is a must to watch)! Ben was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at 15 which rendered him totally blind by 37. He is also a multiple world rowing champ plus hes played in World Cup & Ashes Tours for the Blind Test Cricket team and in fact, hes just headed into the Cricket Australia B...lind Cricket Training Camp in Brisbane once again this weekend! It was an absolute pleasure to host Ben, his beautiful wife Karin and Bens guide dog Orson. Whilst Ben literally can not see anything; his vision and wisdom for building exceptional teams and leadership with trust is extraordinary! 13.01.2022 Congratulations Megan Telford your launch day is finally here! 12.01.2022 What is the meaning in your story? The Disability Awards of Australia are for sure my annual self check-in that helps me answer that question. A few pics to mark the 7th Awards. 12.01.2022 Last night I was speaking with a GF about how it all began. 11.01.2022 These photos were taken in February of this year just (days) after Hannah Clarke was fatally burned in a petrol fire in her car in a quadruple murder-suicide by... her estranged husband. The other victims that day, their 3 beautiful children. On the day these photos were taken, a number of Hannah’s immediate family members were in the room sitting metres from where I sat. Looking back at these photos today, I’m not sure how any of us managed to smile because there were so many tears in the room that day, so much shock, sheer disbelief over such disgusting disrespect of human life, disregard for Hannah’s life and the lives of 3 small, innocent children. As I write this post my mind travels back to the disgusting sick feeling I had in my stomach when we began the Lunchbox Session that day in the Brisbane CBD. These monthly sessions were initiated by the Hon Di Farmer, the former Minister for Child Safety, Youth and Women and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence. In March of this year, the sessions went on line as Covid insisted on a new normal for us all. I can not express enough gratitude for the opportunity to be included in these small group sessions. I am so blessed. The wealth of knowledge, the caliber of speakers, the learning...just extraordinary. It has been so humbling, so so humbling to be included in discussion with some of the most significant corporate leaders in the country; to learn of their real commitment and dedication and responses to those impacted by domestic and family violence, people they see in their workforce every day and those they have worked so hard to support at home during Covid (often at home right beside their perpetrator). And, of course the REAL life experiences of DV amongst those living with disability; I can not, I can NOT even talk about. Thank you to incredible humans like Karni Liddell. Oh my goodness, if you only knew Karni what you give to the world! What I have learned from the industry experts in the room is mind blowing. How did I ever make it into this audience, seriously....but I am forever grateful to learn so I live differently. (Mate’s Bystander Program....get familiar). Today, the Qld Government’s ONLINE White Ribbon Day event included speakers Vanessa Fowler from The Allison Baden-Clay Foundation. As I finish this post, I actually do bow my head and think of the many innocent lives that have been lost and, the lives that have been forever changed because of two little letters DV. 1 in 6 women and 1 in 16 men have experienced physical and / or sexual violence by a current or previous partner. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men have experienced emotional abuse by a current or previous partner since the age of 15. 46% of women and 7 in 10 men who have experienced violence from a current partner do not seek advice or support after the incident. And to my survivor gf, whom I have just celebrated a win in the courts with earlier this month (I still remember how we sobbed with fear when we heard how Hannah was murdered and prayed that that would never be your story); to you my brave warrior friend, I think of you today and your courage and strength. I just can not imagine. I love you. May your life be beautiful from here on in. #notnownotevertogether

09.01.2022 After an outstanding Breaking Free showcase last night in Toowoomba where Ben Felten travelled from Sydney to be the keynote speaker; it was great to catch up with a follow up Breakfast today with event organiser Michael Burge (alongside the blind motorbike racing legend) at the Engine Room today. The location extra special given my late Fathers career with Qld Rail (Toowoomba). #benfelten #blindspeed #insightofdreams #inspirewithyourstory #leadchange

09.01.2022 Oh my goodness, where does the time go!! Covid has certainly created opportunities and obstacles professionally. As a passionate presenter, it’s been a tough gig not being behind the mic as often as usual. It was wonderful to recently be invited to MC the Protea Place Women’s Support Centre inaugural Progressive Dinner (with a twist to allow for Covid numbers). It was a superb event for a very deserving organisation! They truly do warrant your backing. #gratitude #presenter #speaker #mc #engagement #makingadifference

09.01.2022 Though there’s been a few changes since this pic was taken, my love for connection through communication has never changed. It is my life blood. One-on-one, radio, a podcast, emceeing, a school assembly and most certainly sharing with a group as a guest speaker...it’s the happiest place I can be. In my heart of hearts, it is my most passionate and authentic way to serve. The events landscape for 2021 thankfully will be different to this year. I’d really be honoured to be welcomed back into your spaces, homes and hearts. #gratitude

08.01.2022 So grateful...today I get to have another go at putting my best foot forward. I dont always get the life two step right; Im often a bit unco; but Ill never quit! To all those constantly in my corner, showing me how to dance...thank you! #gratitude #blessed #havinago #living

05.01.2022 The QUT Business Leaders Forum today at the Brisbane Hilton featured Kathryn Fagg AO as guest speaker. 03.01.2022 We paid tribute to the roaring twenties last night with Toowoombas Largest Girls Night In - the Toowoomba Kia Gatsby Gala. It was a delight to MC this event and see generosity in abundance to support Cancer Council Queensland. The Clive Berghofer Grande Atrium really did set the scene for one lavish party! Congratulations to Marianne and the TLGNI team, all sponsors, supporters and the few hundred women who attended. Special thanks to the women who went above and beyond to style me including Kim Cahill, Leisa Carney, Gay Hold, Kerry-Anne Hershey and Jade Morgan. Your generosity will not be forgotten!

02.01.2022 Please indulge me.....I was so excited to catch up with the beautiful Cinnamon Clark today in Sydney at RADIO 2CH. (2CH / 2GB / Nova in the one building). I met Cin during my first job in commercial radio at 4gy Gympie Qld. She is a powerhouse and just an all round great gal! We havent seen each other for about 20 years; thanks Cin...next time Long lunch!! And; honestly the cherry on top was chatting with the guy whose voice really does have me at hello, Lofty Fulton. For those of you who dont know him, google him...youll recognise his voice in a split second and his story is amazing! 01.01.2022 Humble Servants; truly these 2 words come to mind when I think of John and Val Pohlman. I contracted marketing services to the Pohlman family for over 8 years when they owned Weis Restaurant and I got to know this couple and their family very well. Andy & I also enjoyed a fairytale wedding reception at this iconic hospitality venue. Their love, friendship and generosity will never be forgotten. Today we bid a final farewell to Val with a beautiful service at Burstows. I was speechless when John and his Sons asked me to do Vals Eulogy. Blessed beyond measure. My heartfelt condolences to all those who loved Val. She will be very much missed. #valeValPohlman #PohlmansNursery #legacy #strongwomen #beautifullady #honoured
