I've been waiting for conditions just like today to capture this windmill and the hills behind it, after seeing a similar scene here one day when I was without my camera . It's pretty rare that you get a second chance at a shot like this!

In the late afternoon sunlight filters through these tress and it feels like the most lovely place in the world. This is my home paddock, one of the last dust storms we had and the very first of the rain filled storms that eventually broke the drought in early 2020. 06.01.2022 I'm a little bit beside myself...wow! Yesterday I received word that one of my images entered in the AIPP Silver Linings Awards has made it through to the semi-finals in the HOME category! Eugowra locals would probably remember this storm that caused so much damage to crops just before harvest last year...this was one of the last images of the front I took before I bolted for home, just down the road! ... To see this image acknowledged by the incredible judges, and amongst so many amazing photographers is just a little bit special!
