17.01.2022 What a beautiful Easter was celebrated from the youth presenting our Stations of the Cross to 2 RCIA candidates being baptised and welcomed into the church and both of them receiving their first Eucharist and Confirmed at the vigil. I was wonderful to see our parishioners back to the parish. Fr Jose and the team would like to wish you all a blessed Easter. He has risen alleluia!!

10.01.2022 New Government regulations as of 26.2.21: We remain at the 2 sqm rule applies in all places of worship. Our Holy Spirit Church will hold 160 people and Holy Cross 50 people. Please make sure if you are not sitting with family to keep a safe 2 sq metre from the person sitting beside you (2 arms length). Please sanitise you hands when entering and leaving the church and sanitise your seat before you leave the church. Sanitisers can be found out in the narthex near the fr...ont door. We still cannot sing at Mass unless all are wearing masks in the congregation so we have decided in our parish churches there is no singing until further notices. Thank you for helping us comply with the government covid regulations to keep everyone safe. We cannot still sing in Mass unless all the congregation are wearing masks. In our parish we have made the rule no singing until further notice and regulations change to everyone singing without a mask. See more

09.01.2022 Year of St Joseph Where does my name Jose come from? It comes from my patron saint, St Joseph, who has always inspired me. He’s such a good man: humble, faith-filled, loyal and hardworking. As a pious Jew, Joseph worked 6 days a week, and although we usually think of him as a carpenter, Matthew calls him a tekton (Mt.13:55). In Greek, a tekton is an artisan or builder who works with common materials like stone, wood, metal, cement and clay. Joseph was a descendent of King D...avid (Mt.1:1-16), but he wasn’t rich, for he could only afford a pair of turtledoves to sacrifice in the Temple (Mt.2:24). He was honoured in being asked to raise Jesus as his son, but as we know, he was at first shocked to learn of Mary’s pregnancy. However, after listening to God’s angel (Mt.1:18-25), he accepted responsibility for Mary and Jesus. Just like Mary, he trusted God, even though he didn’t understand what God was doing. Joseph bravely protected his family from Herod’s murderous rampage; he provided for them when they fled to Egypt, and he safely escorted them back home to Nazareth. 150 years ago, Pope Pius IX declared St Joseph the patron saint of the Universal Church. To mark this anniversary, Pope Francis has proclaimed 2021 the Year of St Joseph. This is a great opportunity for us to reflect on the life of this wonderful saint. Pope Francis has also announced a year of reflection on his 2016 apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of the Gospel), beginning on 19 March. This date is the 5th anniversary of the release of Amoris Laetitia, and St Joseph’s Feast Day. To mark the launch of Amoris Laetitia Family Year, and St Joseph’s Feast Day, I hope you will join me for a special celebration at 9.30 am on Friday 19 March at Holy Spirit Church. Everyone named Joseph or Josephine (Christian, Baptismal or Confirmation name) is especially invited to join us on this occasion for a special blessing. Morning tea will follow. Home Visits- I would love to come and visit you in your homes, and perhaps also to bless your homes, if you would like me to. As your pastor, I am keen to get to know you. Please contact the parish office on 4369 1211 to arrange a suitable time.
