24.01.2022 Physical and Social Development - Flying Kites At The Park What a wonderful morning our children had on Friday! Full of fun and a lot of play in our Lambert Park experience. Even before leaving the center, the joy was already shining on their faces, so we got equipped and went to the park to fly kites and spend energy together in a fun and healthy way. The whole experience was positive and enriching for our children, who took turns among different resources to interact with t...he wind such as kites, foam-planes and windmills, and were able to enjoy the gentle breeze that enveloped Lambert Park on this sunny morning. Although it was not very windy, the kites did fly, and with some instruction, practice and coordination, they were able to experience what it was like to fly a kite in a park successfully and were delighted to see the beauty of this toy following the lead of the wind. In addition to the kites, our children explored the environment as a whole, ran together and shared moments of great fun. In the end, they played in the park's toys and exercised their physical and social skills a little more. Our children were great at following instructions and remained attentive at all times, assuming their own responsibilities to stay together and safe. On the way back to the center, we had the idea of singing the bear hunt song, in which the children came up with ideas of the obstacles we might encounter along the way, which earned a few more moments of laughter and ended our trip to the park with a flourish in this beautiful morning. 24.01.2022 Cooking Experience - Eatable Art On Friday we celebrated the Chinese ''Full Moon Festival'' at Kindy4kids with Edison and Mozart children. Our dear chief Yen had already prepared the dough stuffing with mash potatoes and she brought them to do some art on it with the help of the children. So Miss Neelam invited both groups for some decoration on the dough. But before beginning the art experience, children went to the bathroom with me to wash their hands. Our chief Yen, broug...ht the dough in big tray and demonstrated the art on one dough followed by pressing the mold onto the dough and made print of flower on the top of the dough. Children observed the demonstration attentively and became thrilled for the new art. Educator supported all the children while they were pressing the mold downwards to make a print of flower on the dough thus they could develop their palm muscles. Throughout this experience, the children were engaged as they effectively participated and followed the instructions very well. Children will be able to enjoy their eatable artistic cake in afternoon tea and also bring one home with them. See more

24.01.2022 Role Play: Pirates Go On A Treasure Hunt Today our center was invaded by pirates who arrived on a ghost ship looking for treasure and took over the place. And in the midst of sword fighting, pirate songs, a giant octopus attack, and much, much fun, our children were able to take full advantage of their imaginations to create and conduct this game in a cooperative and positive way that will surely be marked in the memory of our little pirates for long.

24.01.2022 Our Kindy Graduation This week we had a special celebration to congratulate the Einstein children who are about to take an important step All of them had a great time in our center and contributed to make this place even more special, but now they are like birds ready to take on new flights. These children are part of our history and we are honored to have been part of their history as well. On behalf of the Kindy4Kids family we want to congratulate these children and wish them all the best on their journey.

24.01.2022 Art & Craft activity - Dot Painting This week Miss Wan our practical educator brought some new activities for children. The activity was Boomerang dots painting. Educators explained to the children how to use the cotton buds to make the dots same as the on the Boomerang. Educators observed while the children were having fun exploring the colours. Children tried to put different colours on the paper and followed instruction and they did very well in this activity.... This activity provided many opportunities for language as we talked about the different dots, colours and patterns they were using and making. A fun dot painting and colour recognition which was also fantastic practice for their developing fine motor skills.

23.01.2022 Every day at Kindy4Kids we have freshly cooked meal for our children. Our wonderful chef Yen is the best!!! Please check some of her creations

23.01.2022 Recycling Week: Why We Recycle During Recycling Week, the children have been learning about the importance of recycling and the role it plays in looking after nature and the environment. This morning, the children were involved in an activity where they were exposed to some elements of the nature and the environment around them. We have prepared some dry tree leaves, barks and different kinds of dried flowers and ferns as well as sea shells. We placed the material on a big LE...D tile light and gave the activity an intriguing twist to interest the children to become involved. The children were very gentle touching the leaves and the shells and gently placed them back. They engaged positively and posed many interesting questions. After the activity, we asked the children questions and it was evident that the interaction had a positive impact on them and made aware of the importance of recycling and looking after our environment. 22.01.2022 Mindfulness: Talking about our feelings We have been discussing with the children about different feelings and emotions and encouraged them to express how, what and why they feel the way they feel, at times. We have been encouraging them to discuss their feelings with their friends and tell each other what makes them sad and what makes them happy. When do they feel excited and what they are scared of. When do they feel shy and when they get angry. Almost all of the children said that a hug will make them feel happy when they are sad or angry and that they feel very excited around Christmas and their own birthday time, because they get presents. They feel scared in the dark and get shy when they meet new people. It was very interesting to hear their discussion!!!

22.01.2022 Grow Fit Session For today's Grow Fit session, Simon brought our children some fun experiences with which they were excited about and loved to participate in. Right from the start, they warmed up their bodies with stretching movements, sidewalk and following some specific instructions. Simon later introduced aspects of pretending play when they pretended to be on a pirate ship adventure. As Simon guided the story, the children followed him in his movements and worked on their... imaginations to make it more fun. Simon also brought our children a discussion about sharing, and how important and healthy it is for everyone to maintain an environment where everyone shares, takes turns and plays together, respecting the space and time of others. Then he blew some bubbles for our children and made them very excited, jumping and trying to pop them while running around chasing after them. Subsequently they played a game of launching gumboots, where they exercised their throwing movements under different perspectives including throwing it forward and backward, which is a good exercise for their arms and motor skills. Finally, they stretched once more and kept their bodies properly active through healthy physical habits that contribute to the holistic development of our children. See more

22.01.2022 Recycling continued Our children are familiar with "Ori's Clean Up " book after Anne Helen Donnelly's visit last month so as a continuation we decided to do an activity relating to the book. Not all the children were present that time so we decided to read this book and discuss recycling in more details ,as there are lot more older children present today. Miss Joyti emphasized on the different coloured bins and different ways to recycle. She told them about her own experien...ce with composting. We discussed ways to reuse our old books and clothes and how we can reuse the plastic containers to store things in. We spoke at lengths about why we need to do this and the children participated with great anticipation. Once done Miss Joyti took out the task sheet, provided by Anne Helen Donnellyly where we had to guess what products out of the list would go in the bin provided. We were so impressed with the children's attention to detail as we joined together to successfully complete the task. The older children assisted the younger ones and showed some awesome pencil grip and writing skills. The children were very much aware that the food scraps and leaves go in the compost bin and were able to identify correct bins by looking at the pictures in front of it. We had a great time learning about recycling and reusing and are ready for a better future. See more

22.01.2022 Intentional Teaching - Talking About Feelings In order to encourage our Einstein children to exercise their emotional skills to know and manage their feelings, today Amanda proposed an activity to identify different feelings from a game of matching different facial expressions, and with that Amanda asked them to check each one of the expressions shown on the cards and give names to the feelings that such expressions showed. It was interesting to note that the same expression ...was interpreted by our children in different ways, which opened a range for the discussion that it is important to talk about what we are feeling in order to avoid misinterpretations and it is also important to name these feelings so that we can be better understood by others and especially by ourselves. Amanda suggested that they each show their expressions of anger, fear, happiness, surprise, sleep, sadness and so on, stressing that all feelings are normal and legitimate, but the way we react to each of them needs to be thought out. Also, we discussed which feelings are good to feel and which feelings are not pleasant and aroused the desire to change, and after we identified some, we talked about ways we could react to change the way we feel when someone's feeling is not good for us, and from some discussions, we agreed that talking to someone we trust about our feelings was a good strategy to change a feeling of fear, anger or sadness. In addition, our children also mentioned good manners, deep breathing and drawing as techniques to ward off bad feelings, and also agreed that when the feeling is good, the best thing to do is to share it with others in order to spread it as much as possible. Our children have peculiar ways of expressing their feelings from the innocence of childhood, and it is very important that they learn from an early age that they own their actions and emotions so that they can use their genuine goodness in managing their emotional intelligence. 21.01.2022 Group Time - Daily Morning Routine and Calendar Learning We are get together for our morning group time where we sing our good morning song that includes cultural aspects, such as greetings in other languages, in addition to develop in our children a sense of belonging since each child is welcomed in this song. Then, Amanda brought our magnetic calendar and, with everyone's participation, we filled in all fields such as date, day of the week, month, season and weather, and as... always children love to cooperate by putting the respective information in each field. In the end, we repeated loudly all together what was filled in our calendar, in order to help children develop better understanding and memorisation of the calendar. Daily in our group times we seek to involve and invite our children to actively participate in our songs and discussions in different ways, in order to encourage them to develop better self-confidence, in addition to the sense of being, becoming and belonging. 21.01.2022 Under the Sea What an eventful morning has it been for all of us, here in the centre. Today we had some really special creatures paying us a visit, all the way from Under the Sea. We had a very interactive morning, with the creatures who call ocean their homes. Every child in the centre, had the privilege to hold and feel different textured native sea animals. They were all given simple instructions to follow and very obediently everyone followed them. There were some marine ...animals that we were not allowed to touch and they were kept in special containers with lids on. Then there were the ones with no lids and these ones we could touch and feel but not take them out of the water. Then there were a wide range of specimens that we could actually touch, feel and have a closer view. Whichever way we interacted, we were very mindful of not hurting or damaging the environment. Vanessa, the marine ranger, spoke to us about so many things that we were much unaware of such as the use of seaweeds in many of the products we use. She talked about the habitats of different marine life and why is it so important for us, not to damage them. Even a little tap of our feet on the beach can easily ruin the habitat of these beautiful sea creatures. The specimens we explored had some really sad stories about them and the children listened carefully with a lot of genuine interest of being more mindful when they make a trip to the beach. Vanessa also explained to us what shells are okay to pick for leisure and which ones are better left back on the sand. We were also made aware of how some of the sea animals provided food for themselves and how they protect their habitats. So much was explored and different information were brought to light that many of us were unaware of. This experience will definitely help us and the future generation to be more mindful of the marine lives and keep them safe from harm. The best part was the children listened very intently, they asked questions and participated with much enthusiasm. This experience will stay with us for a very long time. Please enjoy the pictures of how the children were interacting and how they reacted and all the fun they all had. See more

21.01.2022 Cultural Week: Awareness to Fijian Culture This week we are getting to know different cultures and traditions. We decided to explore the Fijian culture today and miss Joyti showed the children different videos of different cultural things Fijian people do. From their traditional attire, to their traditional food, their traditional dances and other cultural norms that they still follow. Everyone observed intently and asked the teacher lots of questions. Especially when childre...n saw the men walk on hot stones, and were very curious about how the ladies turned the bark into paper. This paper is then used to make lot of patterns and finally handed down as gifts. Fijians believe a lot in giving gifts and enjoy sharing. They make a lot of craft works and make food in large amounts so the entire village can share. They are also very big on using natural resources and growing their own fresh produce at home. It was fun talking about Joyti's island home and the children watched and listened with much excitement. See more

20.01.2022 Painting with Flowers Today, our student Nazli brought in some beautiful flowers to paint with! This is a creative use of flowers and helps the children to create some beautiful art. This was a very fun activity for the children to do! Each age group took turns to make their own painting. The Mozarts were very curious as we set up all the materials for the painting. They liked mixing the colours.... The Einsteins had their turn last. This activity was fun as the children were able to explore the different shapes they made as they moved through different types of flowers and rosemary pieces. This is great as it helped them creatively use nature, and to appreciate all the differences in nature. Their curiosity towards the different types of plants and their appearance, smell and texture was great to see! The children also found that once they each finished using the plants to paint, the plants looked quite beautiful with these added colours! This was a great activity for all of us and we enjoyed it very much! Thank you to Nazli for bringing in the beautiful flowers!

17.01.2022 Valentines Day Cookies On Friday was valentines day and love was in the air! And to externalize this so beautiful feeling, Yen asked our children to help give a special shape to some special valentines day cookies, from which she had already prepared the dough. Our children then went to wash their hands and sat at the table for this activity, so we handed them a heart shaped cutter and explained to them that, since today is the day to celebrate love, we could use the grea...test symbol of love that is the heart. They liked the idea and did this activity with a sense of purpose, putting great effort into doing a good job and showing admiration for the beauty of the result. After everyone gave their contribution, we handed the cut dough back to Yen who baked it and made them beautiful cookies, which could be enjoyed by everyone in our afternoon tea.

14.01.2022 Colour Mixing experiment The children have been showing a great interest in science and enjoy getting involved in experiments. One way to encourage and support their interest, is by having them experiment with colour mixing.... Colour mixing can help children practice critical thinking, like exploring cause and effect by observing how colours blend together and by engaging in problem solving, through testing different ways to achieve a certain colour. We started by putting the three primary colours in three separate test tubes and explained to the children that when we add another colour to the primary colour, the result will be a transformation to a secondary colour and prompted them to guess what colour it will change to. The children got excited when they saw the colour changed and thought it was magical. Experiments like these engage the children and can make them interested in science and encourage critical thinking.

13.01.2022 Play dough Session Our children always like activities with play dough and this week to further extend their interests for the world ocean week theme educators provided to them with different types of shells and sea animals to explore their creativity through the theme. They loved the idea and cheered when saw the shells, and besides making beautiful sculptures mixing the shells and the play dough, which according to them, were coral, they also liked to put the shells over their ears to hear the "sounds of the sea". It was beautiful to see them work together and share their ideas, creativity and experiences in this activity that allowed them to exercise their motor skills with their hands and also exercise their social interactions, creativity and appreciation for nature.

11.01.2022 Intentional Teaching - Word Hunt Activity Today's intentional teaching was a challenge for our Preschool children to find their own names between so many scrambled letters in this word hunt game. Everyone received same piece of paper that contained the names, and children were instructed to identify their own names and to colour or circulate them. The older children finished the activity relatively quickly and some chose to also find the names of their friends, so educator i...nstructed them to colour friends' names in different colours of their own names. Through this activity children worked on their fine motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, visual attention, word recognition and problem solving skills, and all this allows them to evolve their motor and cognitive ability. Well done!!!

10.01.2022 Intentional Teaching - A Collage Letter September will be another month of high expectations for our Einstein children, so to start off well educators decided to involve children in an activity of making a letter with letters collage for Father's Day. The challenge was first that children cut many, many letters off the magazine pages. Later children were given small cards where the letters should be pasted, and in order to help our Preschoolers with the position of each lette...r, Educator wrote the small letters with a pencil and instructed them to glue their letters on top of it. The activity was challenging for our Einstein children, who had to use their motor and cognitive skills with great precision, but it was also fun because we did everything together and they could count on my help whenever they wanted. All of our children did an excellent job and were very proud of what they had done, as their cards were very beautiful.

10.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day!

09.01.2022 Physical Activity:Yoga with Lily from Inner You Yoga Being Physically active is one of our main aims here at the centre. Everyday the children are asked to try something new, or refine their abilities with what they have learnt previously, as long as they are active and happy. One of our Physical activities involve Yoga which helps children with their physical abilities ,concentration, breathing, and self awareness. They also learn to follow simple instructions and are involved in decision making as well. Lily uses simple and precise instructions and everyone listens to her with great intent. She gives the children the option to choose what animal pose they wish to do. Yoga with Lily is not only structured but a lot of fun as well, and the children stay connected for a long time. Thank you Lily for your wonderful lessons!

08.01.2022 Intentional Teaching - Cutting With Scissors Today our Edison children were encouraged to handle the scissors correctly in an activity where they were instructed to cut out a figure of a fish, and Miss Komal have seen with great pride that they have increasingly improved their skills in handling the scissors. All children were able to cut correctly without assistance. Cutting with scissors is an activity that requires the use of specific muscles in motor movements that, when exercised, contribute not only to this task but also to so many others that involve fine movements, that is why our Edison children will continue to be encouraged in activities with scissors in order to further refine their motor movements.

06.01.2022 PRACTICING BALANCING SKILL WITH BALL ACTIVITY Today for gross motor development with all children Educators planned balancing with ball activity. We set the ground up with ball and wooden blocks in two rows. Educators organised a demonstration, we stood on the block facing each other, kept the ball between two block and started walking on the blocks while holding the other two blocks with hands and tried not to let the ball fall down. The children got curious and excited for ...the activity. The children were invited by group wise. The Einstein children displayed their balancing skills and performed very well with their partner while Edison children needed some support to make a balance while holding the ball in between. The Mozart children also encouraged to do the same but they found it challenging so that they decided to hold the ball and walked on the wooden blocks thus displayed their problem-solving skills . It was a great fun where children enhanced their sportsmanship and worked as a team.

06.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day!

05.01.2022 Bluebell Music Every time Marina, our music teacher from Bluebell Music, is entering the door our children are cheering with excitement, as they were already talking about the music session and singing the songs even before Marinas arrival. When the music started, it was with great joy that our children followed the lyrics and the choreography, and through Marina's leadership they were able to take great advantage of this musical experience. Marina brought some new songs but also sang those that our children already know by heart, and she involved them with toys, instruments, scarfs, rhymes, dances, musicality and a lot of joy, contributing to their creative and cognitive development, while expanding their vision for music and develop great artistic appreciation.

04.01.2022 Intentional Teaching - Games for Cognitive Development September will be a month to exercise our children's cognitive skills so that they practice their reasoning and problem solving skills through different activities. And today's intentional teaching provided them with different opportunities to demonstrate such skills with games like making figures with wooden shapes, matching animals with their shadows and also a memory game, and from there they spent long minutes develop...ing thinking strategies that allowed them to find the solution for their activities. The fact that we separated the activities at different tables also contributed to awaken their interests with the different possibilities of demonstrating to themselves that they were able of doing that. In addition, Educators also observed demonstrations of empathy and care when we saw children handing pieces to their younger peers in order to help them solve their problems as well. Activities like these encourage our children to use the left side of their brain to solve problems and exercise their self-confidence on their own by working things out, and all while they play, discover and have fun. Even the process of packing up such games at the end was an exercise for their reasoning since they had to fit each piece and the lids accurately. All of this became a great exercise in problem solving skills that enabled our children to continue evolving in their cognitive development.

02.01.2022 Intentional Teaching Cultural week This week at Kindy4Kids we are celebrating cultural week, and the children have been involved in many different activities to celebrate different cultures. Monday was Fijian culture, followed by Brazilian culture on Tuesday. ... Miss Amanda shared her information about Brazil and then children talked a little about one of the biggest passions of Brazilians which is football, one of the Einsteins children, came before his friends to talk a little about his taste for football and also teach his friends some words in Portuguese, the language spoken in Brazil. On Wednesday Edison and Einstein children participated in an experience where Miss Neelam showed them the Indian cultural dresses such as saris and salwaar suit that Indian women wear on various occasions. And, today, it was Miss Sophia's turn to share about her Lebanese culture and traditions. So today, the children learnt a bit about the Lebanese culture and got to see where Lebanon is situated on the globe map. They participated in a cooking activity, making the well-known Lebanese salad Tabouli, and the famous Hummus dip. After that, they did a bit of belly dancing where the children watched Miss Sophia and copied her moves. It is important for the children to be exposed to different foods and cultures as it enriches their lives and widens their understanding of the world, and that will enhance their ability to communicate and work with people from different cultural backgrounds.

01.01.2022 WHO AM I? - A GUESSING GAME Our morning was filled with lots of laughter through this guessing game where our children would have to find out what cards they held on their foreheads from the tips of their friends. Amanda first set herself as an example to demonstrate to the children what the game would be like, and what kinds of tips they should give. And then each one had their turn to be the one who guess while the rest of the group made sounds and mimics that gave hints to... what was shown on the card. It was really fun to watch the ways they interpreted each object and tried to help their friends in some way with their mimics, sounds and tips, demonstrating great creativity and team spirit, some even giving examples like "It looks like a butterfly" to speak about the butterfly, and all of this brought a lot of laughs not only among the children but also among the educators, who had a lot of fun with the children. In a playful way, our children exercised their skills to empathize, cooperate and apply efforts to help others, which says a lot about their social, emotional and also cognitive skills.
