18.01.2022 What do we do when we find a creepy crawly bug? Do we squish it? NO! We investigate, we analyse, we wonder and we learn! This week in Junior Kindy we found a bug in our tee pee. The children were so excited, calling out to Miss Kim to come and look. We caught the bug, looked at it with our magnifying jars to see it more closely. Miss Kim took photos so we could search on google to find out more about the bug we found. It was a June bug! This sparked so much interest we spent most of this week searching the gardens for all sorts of creepy crawlies to study.

17.01.2022 When children use tools to pick things up they are building fine motor muscle strength and developing hand eye coordination. Today the children in JK explored with plastic tweezers to pick up coloured felt balls and transferred them from bowl to bowl. This activity not only built fine motor and hand eye co-ordination but children used their own initiative to sort the colours. This is an awesome way to develop hand control prewriting skills and colour recognition!

15.01.2022 Miss Hope has been exploring heaps of sensory activities in our Nursery this week. Sensory pouches were made which were full of squishy bright paint & rice. How much fun it is for all the Nursery children to mix it between their fingers!

15.01.2022 Miss Rachael is the Director at Kindy House Early Learning, she has over 20 years’ experience in early Childhood Education and over 6 years’ experience as Centre Director. Rachael holds her Bachelor of Education (ece) as well as her Associate Diploma of Education Certificate in childcare. Rachael loves to see the smiley faces of all the children that walk through the doors at her centre every day. Rachael is a mother to 2 teenage boys who although are almost fully grown keep her on her toes. Rachael says: I love hearing the stories the children tell me of what they get up to at home and here at Kindy House. I am a big believer in self resilience and encourage children to find their own way using their own problem-solving techniques.

10.01.2022 Miss Hope is the Educator in our Nursery room at Kindy House. She is motivated to learn, grow, and excel in Education. Miss Hope holds her Certificate 4 in Education Support and has a lot of experience in Children's Entertainment in which she specialises in Music and Movement. Miss Hope is ambitious with many years of hands-on experience organising and entertaining children through music classes. Miss Hope has a variety of skills which range from arranging music, selecting music, music lessons, music education, speech, and music recording, all of which will be extremely beneficial to the children’s growth and learning adventure here at Kindy House.

06.01.2022 Christmas Coloured spaghetti sensory play! Our nursery enjoyed exploring the colour and texture of dyed spaghetti. There is so much learning potential with this activity. Children can pull and tug at the long coloured strands and feel the texture of the spaghetti with their fingers and toes. It’s wonderful as an early fine motor activity for babies and develops sensory awareness.

06.01.2022 We figured out a way to make this gorgeous 4 month year old LOVE tummy time. He now rolls all the time (in fact he can’t stop) . We love seeing and being apart of milestones at Kindy House.
