09.01.2022 In light of our Vision2020 conference postponement and as we see the coronavirus pandemic increasingly affecting our day to day lives here in Australia, it is i...mportant that kinesiology practitioners and students, clinic operators and clinic owners are taking measures to minimise risk to themselves and the public. Perhaps more importantly, the concern and uncertainty of the current climate is likely to be impacting you, your students and clients. Now is a good time to draw on your training and skills as a kinesiology practitioner, teacher or student. Our mental health is just as important to consider as our physical well-being. Open the dialogue and talk to your friends, family, colleagues and communities. Critically examine what is being reported in the media. Take the time to pause and listen to your intuition and consider getting a balance to support yourself. Please check your email inbox as we have provided you with information via a 'press kit' which we have pulled together from credible sources to provide some simple measures on how you can protect yourself, your clients and your students over the coming months.

01.01.2022 AKA's response to ABC 7.30 Report on Chiropractors use of kinesiology to diagnose. On Thursday 28 March 2019, the ABC aired a segment on the 7.30 Report called ...Crack Down. The segment included the story of a woman with bowel cancer who was diagnosed and treated for a parasite by her Chiropractor. Responding to the program, the Australian Kinesiology Association (AKA) Inc., a peak industry body representing Kinesiology practitioners, stated that Australian consumers seeking complementary medicines as an alternative health choice should always consult an accredited practitioner. The AKA Scope of Practice clearly states Kinesiologists do not diagnose, prescribe or dispense. Accredited practitioners of the AKA have a Duty of Care to refer patients with symptoms that have not yet been diagnosed to the client's General Practitioner. Clients of Kinesiologists have a responsibility to report all symptoms to their GP. AKA Registered Kinesiology Practitioners do not diagnose, prescribe or dispense unless they have the relevant qualification e.g., Medical Doctor; Naturopath; Homoeopath; Nutritionist etc. The article can be viewed here - https://www.abc.net.au/7/the-chiropractic-industry/10950986
