21.01.2022 Spring clean.. your mental health. Studies have shown that cleaning can be a positive effect to your mental health. Some researchers have speculated that in times of stress and anxiety, people tend to turn to repetitive behavior like cleaning because it gives them a sense of control.... If we looked at it from a different angle you could say your environment is a representation of your mental health.. which is forever changing. It is about learning to adapt to your change that helps you maintain your home to how you want it to be. If it is not a reflection of who you are or what you would like then it is time for a Spring Clean!

11.01.2022 New years resolution: Declutter your Home or life! Sticking with the idea of your home as a reflection of yourself, consider what your clutter says about your attention span and emotional state. What type of Home/Life do you wish to have? It’s never too late to adopt new, better ways of doing things. Even one small change can have a lasting postive effect.
10.01.2022 Simple tip: Start small. It’s easy to get overwhelmed so choose one room, then one drawer or shelf and start with only that small space. Don’t try to figure out how to tackle the entire house at once.Simple tip: Start small. It’s easy to get overwhelmed so choose one room, then one drawer or shelf and start with only that small space. 23.12.2021 Ways to Declutter to Prepare for Winter Before the temperatures drop and those days begin to shorten, roll up your sleeves and get to it. If you have no clue where to start, here are three essential areas to focus on for decluttering. 1.Your Cupboard... Start by eliminating old clothes and ones that you haven’t worn in the last year be strict with yourself. Get your summer clothes out and your winter must have's in. Replace any socks with holes and ensure you have the basics! 2. Your kitchen pantry/fridge I tend to find that once Winter lurks around the corner my Carb Sugar intake increases by 85%! Winter Blues bring on the emotional comfort eating but it does not need to be this way! Purge your fridge and pantry and ensure you have the basic items to get you through the cold months. 3. Your Office Before tax time hits do a quick sweep of your office space. Sort any floating papers and receipts. I find a filing cabinet always works best anything you have you slot it straight into the appropriate folder. Throw out envelopes of mail you do not need these and any stationary that is empty, broken or tattered. Just remember People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy. 23.11.2021 Christmas.. That wonderful yet dreaded time where you are running around like a mad woman (or man) trying to organise the house for the festive season. On top of trying to maintain a clean house you now have to set up a tree or decorations and somehow manage your house to not look cramped, glitter free and pristine. I should note I love this time of family events with lots of food and the giving of gifts to loved ones. But I should also state I dread the after math of packing... the tree and cleaning up. Some useful tips to make the packing up process more festive! 1. Do not vacuam until you have sorted everything into its place or packed away. It is just a waste of time. Glitter will manifest from the christmas ornaments stuck behind the couch. One good vacuam is more effective than several hasty ones. 2. Have several tubs ready to put all decorations and ornaments into. As soon as they are filled take them to your garage/spare room storage etc immediately. Do not let them loiter in your home. 3. Set yourself a deadline. I usually give myself until the first weekend of January but this can be any date that suits you. I clean out my fridge anything that hasnt been eaten (left over turkey, Half eaten cake..) I put it in my compost bin. Do all your washing by your deadline date. Do a quick inspection of your bedrooms bathroom kitchen and collect the hand towels, socks on the floor and bathroom floor mat and throw them in the washing machine! 4. Lastly remember this is the holiday season! It is OK if you do not spend every minute of the day cleaning. Enjoy this time with your loved ones. You have the year ahead to sort your house and find a place for everything. In the words of Andy Rooney: One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly.
07.11.2021 What is the vision of your ideal home? Having a vision or manifestation of what you would like helps! Be mindful of your spaces around you and you will see that everything has its place.
29.10.2021 You do not need to be in a perpetual state of intense spring cleaning. Just whip through these tasks before you leave your home. Make the Bed. Flatten it out add in the throw pillow you’re practically a hotel! Put your in between clothes away! If they are not dirty away! If dirty straight to the washer! We all have that hoarding chair.. Get rid of it!... Do not let dishes stack up! Straight into the dishwasher! Or hand wash as you use! Recycle mail immediately. There is no need to hold on to mail you do not need.. or envelopes! These tasks do not take long. Our attitude is what creates the work!
