20.01.2022 #throwbackthursday #adventure #KingIsland @whiskygodfather A little throwback from not so long ago... Taking down the journey as to how 2 handmade Angelic Custom Copper Stills made it to King Island from far South Tasmania in time for my birthday. ... This was the next challenge I had to embark on which Shane suggested You could bring the Stills up on Mark’s Boat. How we travelled the beautiful Copper Stills is the next stop... full story on https://kingislanddistillery.com//stills-across-the-strait See more

15.01.2022 A friend gave me some great advice, A key factor for handcrafting the best Spirits; is to distill in Copper Stills. We know just the right person to see, here’s a map how to find him offered Bill Lark, the 'Godfather' of our Industry. Peter Bailley is our man, a naturally gifted Engineer with a passion for the Manufacturing and Distilling Industry. Gifting decades of knowledge and experience Peter asks me What Stills would you like us to make for you?. I was hopeful th...e Copper Stills could be manufactured on my desired design of Angel wings outline. Angels are everywhere in our Industry, I’ll share more about this in upcoming news. There is a long waiting list for Copper Stills to be built, especially since Peter and his Team are the best in the business. I watched with excitement over the months as two hand made custom Copper Stills were crafted from the ground up. I am extremely grateful for dedication and devotion into the production of these Copper Stills, it guarantees quality Spirits all the way up the line. These Stills are specifically built to infuse intimate flavours to tickle, tease and please the seekers of quality boutique spirits. 09.01.2022 Special insight for our followers - Building the Ocean Dunes Links Golf Course | A snippet into the amazing journey. "We made a start on the holes closest to the main water source - 1st & 18th but then realised, that what I believed would become the most spectacular hole on the course, straddling a tiny inlet on the coast, should be built first. Luckily there was a small dam close by which enabled us to create the 4th (pictured), our 'signature hole', for marketing purposes.... When the front nine opened for play I would make it my job to meet players on the tee & listen to their comments all amazing! 01.01.2022 Golf n Grog since 1910 on King Island Tasmania Imagine back in the day a group of 30 enthusiasts first playing Golf on King Island in 1910, it would have mostly been about the long grass and the grog ;-) Today, over 100 golfers are attracted annually to play the King Island Golf Open this long weekend. Competitors fly in from all over Australia to get the swing of this two day event, (these days it’s mostly about our great greens and Local grog ;-) ).... The King Island Golf Open is held over the Northern Tasmanian Recreation Day/Melbourne Cup long weekend in November. Anyone with an AGU Handicap is welcome to participate and play. The ‘Local’ Links course comprises of 9 holes with 12 greens and breathtaking views of the King Island coastline and Southern Ocean. Find out more about this event at my website https://rb.gy/tva2yb Cheers hh Heidi Weitjens | Distiller | King Island Distillery
