11.01.2022 Last week we celebrated NAIDOC Week, we celebrated the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community. Our rooms looked at the different colours of the Aboriginal flag, discussing their meaning. They also continued on with many embedded practices including the Acknowledgement to Country, recognising the land of the Quandamooka people and listening to traditional music. Our Kindergarten children have continued on with their Indigenous learning project. Learning about Traditional Aboriginal Art, the Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander flags and Customs of the traditional people and the land.

09.01.2022 We have been reflecting on ways we can adapt our communication with families and sharing our days, so we have set up a new communication display in our foyer. During drop off and pick up why not take a moment to have a look at your childs learning for the day. You will still receive this information via your Story Park, however we have noticed the children enjoy engaging with the display as they tell their parents about their day and point out their photos. We also have communication books for each room available on our display, so if you wish to send a message to your childs educator please use these books and our educators will check them daily.

Self-regulation is learning about your own feelings and emotions, understanding how and why they happen, recognising them (and those of others), and developing effective ways of managing them. When children and young people learn to self-manage their emotions, they feel more confident, capable and in control.
