02.01.2022 The club have been in contact with Bowls Tas and this is the latest information we recieved yesterday this is as much information we have unedited Good afternoon everyone, I just wanted to send out an update prior to the next set of easing of restrictions from tomorrow so Clubs are fully aware of where things are at. ... As you would no doubt be aware there are further easing of restrictions coming into effect tomorrow, this stage is almost like Stage 2.5. This includes the increase of gatherings to 80. Clubs may now have up to 80 people within their Club House now being served, provided they have sufficient space. The 4 square meter rule must be applied and provided you have the space available you may have the full capacity. Please remember that this still only allows for table service. Once your customers have been served their food or drink they must return to their seat at a table. However regarding on green practice and competition, there will be no change to the current Stage 2 requirements as per the Bowls Tasmania Return to Play Document. The reason for this is that things are not quite as simple as just allowing 80 people on your greens. There are other stipulations that we have been made aware of, such as this still only permits no more than groups of 20 to be training/playing together while observing 1.5m social distancing, and people from one group of 20 cannot comingle with the other group of 20 etc. Because of the layout of a bowls green this is not going to be possible at this point. But the good news is that Stage 3 comes into effect next Friday 26th June 2020. At the moment we are still awaiting further information around the requirements from the State Government for Stage 3 for sporting venues, however we are hopeful that you will see some significant easing of restrictions around numbers on rinks and therefore the whole green and even the space between rinks etc. Hopefully this will get more people back onto the green at a time and enable clubs to hold events with greater numbers and even spectators in attendance. It is expected that all cleaning and sanitisation measures will remain though. As soon as we receive this further information we will be able to release what Stage 3 of the Return to Play Document looks like prior to next Friday. This continues to be a rapidly changing environment all the time, but please know that we are working extremely hard behind the scenes to get you all of the answers that you require and get things finalised and out to you as quick as possible. I’ll be in touch when we have further information. Kind Regards, Rebecca Van Asch I Chief Executive Officer
