24.01.2022 We have two last minute spots with our lovely staff member Sietske. Storytelling with the Bee Bots is a lovely way to incorporate literacy, numeracy and early learning coding. This session is for ages 5 plus and is a parent/child activity. The Bee Bots are lots of fun and the story we are featuring is "We're going on a Bear Hunt" written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. Be quick as these spots fill very quickly Note: you only need to enrol the c...hild attending, not the adult. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/school-holiday-storytelling-wi This program is funded by the Tasmanian Community Fund and supported by Libraries Tasmania.

06.01.2022 What do you get when you combine #minecrafteducation, #augmentedreality, the world's oldest living culture, and over 1000 young bright minds? Indigenous Digital... Excellence in ACTION! This #NAIDOC week we have partnered with Indigenous edu-tech company @mikaelajadeindigital to deliver Australia's first NAIDOC Minecraft Education Challenge. 25 schools and over 1000 students across Australia have been invited to participate in the inaugural challenge, anchored in this year's NAIDOC theme 'Always was. Always will be.' While students across the country are busy getting creative with tech, and preparing their school's entry to be judged on the 15th November, the team has planned a special event on Ngunnawal country in collaboration with the National Library of Australia. Live in Canberra and want to get involved? Click on the link in our bio to find out more about this exciting event in Canberra next week. This deadly creation was created by IDX team member and Gomeroi woman Tess Reading using #DigitalCustodians Augmented Reality app. A taste of what's to come from our young participants. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCMinecraftEducationChallenge #alwayswasalwayswillbe #IndigenousDX #IDXFlint #indigitalschools #minecrafteducation #TelstraFoundation
