22.01.2022 Hi Auskick families, This Friday is our final session for 2020. Each group will hold their own presentation on the ground for all Auskick participants. We encourage families to come out on the ground after training for the presentations (please ensure that you sanitise your hands before entering the field and follow social distancing practises). Sausages will be provided for everyone with drinks for the kids only. The canteen will not be open on the night but drinks and conf...ectionery will be available over the bar inside the club rooms. Thank you all for being a part of our Auskick program this year and hope to see you all next year. For anyone unable to attend Friday please contact me for details on how to receive your child’s certificate and medallion. Regards Brad Duggan Auskick coordinator
22.01.2022 Anyone missing these?
22.01.2022 A fantastic day at Kingston Beach Oval, for our junior presentations. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
22.01.2022 Auskick presentation With the weather looking ominous for Friday night Plan B will be to hold the presentations inside the clubhouse should we be rained out. Due to our large numbers we will have to stagger our sessions. Group 1 will be at 5pm, group 2 will be at 5.30 and group 3 at 6.pm. At the end of each presentation we will be required to vacate the clubhouse to allow the next group in for theirs. Hopefully the weather holds out and we can still run our regular session with presentations out on the ground afterwards. A post will be put up here at 3pm Friday notifying parents of which way the night will go. See you all Friday night
20.01.2022 Hi families, This is just a reminder that we really need parents in each team to help out with canteen duty at Kingston Beach oval. We were touch-and-go as to whether we would be able to have a canteen this year due to Covid-19, so we are really happy that we have been able to open, and hot chips and coffee are available to all. ... Our club is a volunteer run club, and the canteen has always run on a volunteer basis, and we really need our parents to keep helping out, please. It is a small thing that most families can do once per season. We understand that it is daunting sometimes, but please if you are approached by your team manager to help out, please do so, or arrange to help out another time if you can't do it that day. Thanks everyone. Have a great weekend of footy everyone!

16.01.2022 We are pleased to announce our second award winner, being for the Girls Team Coach of the year, and that is Ryan Kinder. Ryan has successfully achieved the very difficult task of balancing having fun, being inclusive, and developing football ability, throughout the year. Ryan is constructive and positive in his feedback to the girls. He emails the families each week after the game and gives individual feedback on what the girls did well; he also individually thanks all the pa...rents for their help each weekend. Ryan has fostered great morale amongst the girls and the parents. Ryan goes the extra mile and has shouted the girl's chips after training and hot chocolates after a cold weather game. He takes the time to get to know each family. He has also organised several activities with the senior girls, and our girls have been chuffed to have received their jumpers from the senior players, and to have some senior players come to watch their games, and give feedback to them in the huddle. He is the kind of coach you would be happy to have your kids play under for a long time! Ryan has taken the time to analyse each game for the season and provide very comprehensive constructive encouragement to aid in the girl’s football development. Ryan has been very active in developing a strong relationship with the under 9 age group and has included them in multiple activities, to make them feel welcome and provide them with football development opportunities. We congratulate Ryan for this award and acknowledge all our other Girls coaches, who have achieved so much this year.
16.01.2022 Some of our young Tigers (U14 and U15 boys) have already made a start, preparing for the 2021 season. 2021 Under 15 coach Jamieson Smalley and assistant Jeremy Brereton are to be congratulated for this initiative, getting these two groups together and providing a fun and extremely beneficial offseason campaign. With unbelievable numbers, so far of 43, 37, and 45 in the first three weeks. Well done to the other coaches and parents, who have been there to help out also. If this is an indication of things to come, then the future looks bright at Tigerland. We are working hard to provide some more opportunities for our other age groups. Stay Tuned. Go Tigers

15.01.2022 The best thing about community footy is being part of the community. Great to see a few of the tigers parents, players and siblings make the most of the kingston park run. ( starts at the old high school site) Park run is s free, timed community event run every Saturday morning at 9am over 5km. ... To join just jump on line ( park run) and register and print out your bar code and bring it along. Just turn up at 8.45am for a 9am start. You can run, walk, push a Pram or walk your dog. ( 1 per person on a short lead) Would be great to see a few more players and families come along. There are usually between 170-200 people there each week of all ages so why not give it a go!!
14.01.2022 The Tigers are looking to get our agegroups sorted early, so if you have friends that might be interested in having a go at footy, let them know. 13.01.2022 Our next Award is for Boys Team Coach of the year. This was another difficult decision, as we have had all our coaches give so much time and energy to their roles this year. Our winner this year is our Under13A2 Coach Brett Cornish. Brett has been one of our two under 13 coaches along with Tim Stewart (under 13 A1) who’s teams were split into separate divisions, at short notice, by the league. This was done after the teams had already been settled for the season. You can imag...ine the issues the two coaches faced when the age group, was essentially divided into Div 1 and Div 2. as a result. Brett lost a few of his ball-winning Prime movers to the other side, in order to make our A1 team more competitive in their division. While Brett had players going out of the side, he also had new players coming in, creating various challenges, along the way. Brett always accepted the decisions that were being thrust on him and always said whatever is best for the club. Brett is fair to all players. Treats all players with respect and gives everyone a go on the field in all positions. Brett is supportive and encouraging of all players. An example of his coaching style can be encapsulated in one endorsement, from a parent: There have definitely been times this season when coaching this particular side would have been challenging to say the least. In one game He was placed in a position against a much stronger team to have the mercy rule introduced early in the second quarter of a match. The team eventually was beaten by 116 points. Some players were asking to come off the ground due to a lack of motivation. The other side had approximately 25 players compared to Brett’s 15. Brett never wavered and really tried very hard to keep the boys motivated. At the end of the game, he spoke confidently to the boys and told them to keep their heads up. In the second last game of the year, the boys needed to win to make the finals. It was raining quite heavily and the effort from the team was outstanding. They lost by one point and some were visibly upset. To his credit, he told the boys how proud he was of their effort and they could all go home knowing they really did do their best. Both our under 13 coaches should be commended for the way they have handled this season, given the way the league, poorly executed the decision to split the age group. Congratulations Brett. See more
11.01.2022 Feel like unwinding after a week at work or just a quick drink? If so, pop down to Kingston Beach Oval Clubrooms, Tom will have the bar open from 6 tonight. See you there.
09.01.2022 Get around you favourite coach!
08.01.2022 Best of luck to our under 13 girls this weekend. Go Tigers!
07.01.2022 The final award, for our Volunteers, is for Club Volunteer of the year. We know it’s a cliché but this really could have gone to so many people, who have donated so much time this year. This year we have chosen Brendan Kull to be our Club Volunteer of the Year. Brendan is highly committed and deeply passionate about being involved with the Tigers. He is an assistant coach with the under 9 boys and is described by the coach as very much a mentor he quite often takes the ext...ra time to work on their skills individually or simply chat if they get upset for any reason. He doesn’t miss a training session, umpires most games, and helps set up and pack away the ground on game day. A number of opposition coaches have been heard saying You are lucky to have him as part of your team this due to the encouraging and informative manner in which he umpires. Brendan also has an active role in the under 11 girls team, where he is always supportive at training providing drills for the girls on a regular basis. Has quite often umpired, when he is not doing it for the under 9 boys. Helps with the on-field rotations, when it is required, during games. Brendan is heavily supportive of culture and team approach to coaching and provides fantastic support for the coach. He is described as being calm and direct in his approach and speaks to the girls at a level they can understand and is said to be an insightful resource. Brendan has an excellent understanding of the game and a unique way to best develop the girl's football ability without directly treading on any toes. To cap off the trifecta, Brandan is also an assistant coach with the TSLW team at the Tigers. In that team, he is called on to conduct training activities, implement football development, strength and conditions programs, and game-day assistance. Brendan has also helped facilitate the relationship between the senior and junior girls, to ensure the club has a sustainable and successful program, in which he is passionate about. Combine all these roles and the fact he coaches a soccer team on Saturday, the contribution Brendan continues to make to our club should be commended. Congratulations Brendan, on this award, and best of luck representing the Club, along with our other award winners at the league awards night. See more

05.01.2022 As promised here is the first of our volunteer award winners. It is for Volunteer Umpire of the year. And the award goes to........(insert drum roll)....... Aaron Vince! Aaron is an invaluable volunteer for the Kingborough Tigers Junior Football Club. Aaron brings a wealth of experience with his football background and is passionate about the development and growth of junior football. Aaron's son Xavier is into his 4th season, playing with the Under 11 Team and his son Lach...lan is into his 2nd season, playing with the U8 team. Aaron has volunteered many hours of his time across both his sons playing groups. Aaron assists the coaches in providing support weekly at training whilst also spending time one on one with children who require extra support and coaching to develop their football skills. Aaron regularly umpires junior games and has been consistently umpiring junior games since 2016. It is not uncommon for Aaron to umpire two games on a weekend if his son's games are scheduled at different times. Aaron promotes a safe environment for our juniors and he is excellent in providing explanations to children when they may not understand a rule if a free kick has been awarded against them. Congratulations Aaron and congratulations to all our volunteer umpires for a fantastic season. See more
05.01.2022 We are disappointed with the rain causing the cancellation of games at Kingston Beach oval. Those games that could be moved to the Twin Ovals were moved, thanks to some quick work with the Kingborough Council. A full schedule of footy up there meant we were unfortunaty very limited with the games we could accommodate. We know it’s disappointing but let’s hope the ovals dry out and the sun shines for next week.
05.01.2022 Hi Families, Whilst you and your little footy players may well have your attention on the summer sports rosters, our Footy Club is still focussed on our beloved footy! We are seeking expressions of interest from people keen to join our junior committee. We are a volunteer committee that organise and support our boys and girls in junior, and youth teams to pull on their boots, and play footy in the yellow and black! ... The committee are a great bunch of people who don’t take ourselves too seriously. What we take seriously however, is bringing our footy families the best opportunities to play football, train and be a part of our great Footy Club. We are seeking motivated people to join our committee in the following roles: Treasurer ( this is a role that is well supported by the Club structure and personnel, and whilst specific financial knowledge is helpful it certainly isn’t a requirement) General Committee Junior Footy Co-ordinator Female Footy Co-ordinator All our roles have the backing of our experienced junior committee and will be well supported in these roles. All you need is some time and a passion for junior and youth footy. If you love kids playing footy and getting things done, we would love to hear from you. Please email your interests to Philippa: [email protected]
