25.01.2022 Dear BKS Families TUESDAY 4TH AUGUST IS A CHILD FREE DAY Yesterday, the Victorian Government announced that, on the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, regional and rural Victoria will move to Stage 3 restrictions and metropolitan Melbourne will move to Stage 4 restrictions, to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). From Thursday, these requirements apply to all early childhood education and care (ECEC) services across all metropolitan Melbourne and rural and re...gional Victoria until at least Sunday 13 September. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that early childhood services remain safe places for staff and children who are eligible to attend but these restrictions are a critical measure to reduce the movement of students and families across the state. Metropolitan Melbourne In metropolitan Melbourne, early childhood services will remain open for children whose parents or carers, are permitted workers and for vulnerable children. Rural and Regional Victoria Early childhood services, including sessional kindergarten, in regional and rural Victoria under Stage 3 restrictions, can continue to operate, with appropriate risk-mitigation measures in place. All BKS Kindergartens remain open however tomorrow No BKS Kindergarten will be open on this day to allow educators to plan for these changes. Please continue to ensure that you contact BKS Central Support if your child is a confirmed case of COVID-19 or they have come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Families can find updated COVID-19 Victorian Government directions at www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus Thank you to staff and families for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, please contact our Central Support office via phone on 5273 0200 or via email at [email protected]. Take care Anneliese

24.01.2022 We hope you enjoy our next book Monkey Puzzle.

21.01.2022 At Bethany, we know that the impacts of COVID-19 can be devastating. Sudden loss of income, social distancing, working from home and daily messaging in the media have led to levels of increased stress and anxiety amongst our communities. And, we are expecting this to increase. In times like these, community support services such as the ones provided by Bethany Community Support are more vital than ever. In response to our communities needs we have just launched the Bethany C...OVID-19 Support Line 1300 655 598, a free, new and easy pathway to speak with trained counsellors when people need someone to listen and talk to. Our intent is to let people know that they are not alone. The Bethany COVID-19 Support Line counsellors will listen, provide support, advice and helpful strategies as well as guide individuals to services that might be useful for their particular situation. We need your help to spread the word to our communities. Some people who have never accessed support services before COVID-19 may not be sure how to. but you can help change that. Below, we have included a link to download information and creative assets to share within your business and personal networks if you can we’re hoping that collectively, we can make sure that anyone who needs our support, knows how to reach us. If you, or someone you know needs someone to talk to, call the Bethany COVID-19 Support Line on 1300 655 598, from Monday Friday, 10am-3pm. No problem is too big or small to reach out. 21.01.2022 We have been practising our cutting skills by making pizza’s at kinder. There has been lots of discussion about what we like on our pizzas. What’s your favourite? Do you buy pizza from the shop or do you make your own at home? We make our own at my house. We make the base using 1 cup Greek yoghurt and 1 cup SR Flour plus extra flour for kneading the dough. Then everyone gets to put the toppings they like on their own pizza. You can even make different sizes to suit kids or gr...own ups. Yummm! See more
