25.01.2022 That's a wrap ! 4 return trips to Bundaberg in 8 days, but job's done (y) Had a reasonable size re-fit at the CBA with work only taking place after hours weekdays and on weekends. Some late night finishes and long days, as I was on my own. By finish time ( 10.30pm last night ) my back had all but given up, so time to rest for a day or two. Briefly, 7 offices, public space, some ceiling, bulkhead, small cupboard, 7 doors and other stuff including feature walls. A big thanks to onsite guys, Steve, Scotty and Meshy for their professionalism and assistance to help me get this done on time.

24.01.2022 Sorry we've been quiet here on our page, but we have been really busy. We always try to bring you something different, so here is todays offering. We had a full re-paint on a property at Maryborough including a make good on a kitchen. Fitted new doors, drawers and handles. The bench top was in good condition, but Lime Green :) real 60's look :( So, I cleaned to make it grease & dirt free, applied " Grip-Lock " and then an enamel gloss with a " hardener " added. I won't disclose the hardener product, ( secret painters business ) but if you want to know, I can inbox you. :)

24.01.2022 Let's paint our driveway

24.01.2022 A short story of Timber. Products used on external timber does not last as long as paint. It breaks down for a number of reasons and in this instance, it is a combination of poor original application and full time exposure to sun and elements. Took some doing, but we believe the outcome was as best as possible and the client is happy. Due to the circumstance, I had to create a colour to blend in with the timber stain that we could not remove. Photos will tell.

23.01.2022 I haven't been posting for no particular reason other than ? being lazy :) Nah, I have been quite busy. We are getting through our jobs and definitely looking forward to the Xmas break. We have quite a few jobs booked in for next year already, which has never happened before. Thanks to my regular clients who are understanding of the time lines and are prepared to wait until we can get around to you. Stay safe people and enjoy the festive season. ><>

23.01.2022 Well there goes the financial year. Zipped passed, but the last 6 months were interesting. We had an extended run of public holidays ( Easter and Anzac Day ) and the Federal election. KPS has been fairly busy with a lot of time taken up juggling clients and their needs. With our National Scope of works, I recently went to Bundaberg and undertook a smallish job for the big Food retailer.... W. :) As usual, we cannot start until after the store has closed, so 9pm start, makes for long nights. Couple of photos here abouts for your viewing.

22.01.2022 With the festive season upon us, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my staff, suppliers and clients for what has been a very busy year, overall. We undertook some challenges, that is for sure. We do not advertise and rely solely on the old " Word of Mouth ".... referrals, to keep us going. We have a mantra of " the client being as important as the painting ". At years end I reflect on what we have achieved and the way we went about it. This years key note is, " we undertook each job with honesty and always provided the best possible outcome ".

21.01.2022 September and it has been a quoting marathon. Seems Spring is in the air and folks are on a mission. Here's a little emergency job completed in 2 hours. We don't like taking on the big-ish plastering issues, but this was for a mate.

20.01.2022 How good is semi retirement ? All this means is some days ( during the week ) I can get up after the sun rises instead of before :) I have been undertaking smaller jobs. Although I am currently doing a full internal re-paint, but works are staged. I have found a crew to do the larger jobs and will post up summaries of those soon. Some pics below of current job....transition from start to finish >>>

20.01.2022 Work is bubbling along. We will post up some stuff soon. Here is a quick before and after on a property we are currently doing. It is a complete re-paint, from roof, external to internal.

20.01.2022 Been keeping busy these days. Just a quick catch up. I had an apprentice helping me today. :)

19.01.2022 making good on an issue with a VJ ceiling. Client washed it with mold killer and then had a painter do their thing. Something went astray and the top coat did not stick. We were called in to fix that issue. 99% guaranteed it will stick now.

18.01.2022 I'll share this business, as I have been a part of its inception and growth. My daughter Brooke, is the owner and has received many great reviews for her work so far. She now has her mobile VAN fitted out for all services. https://www.facebook.com/brookeanimallover1998

17.01.2022 Just a little " before and after ". Commercial site that needed freshening up. Removal of curtains exposed large cracks at windows. No worries M40 No gaps and problem " solvered ". :)

17.01.2022 Just a little teaser of what we are up to over the next couple of weeks. Full internal / external repaint of a house at Red Hill, Brisbane. Steep sloping street, bugger all room on the boundary, no parking but we will conquer it. Todays post is just a before and after of the casement windows. We removed them completely, double coated the frame, primed the windows and undercoated the external face. Windows will be re-fitted and final coated in place.

17.01.2022 Well, that's it done for 2020. We are booked out until Xmas. If you are wanting painting done by us, you'll have to wait until 2021, sorry. And it probably won't be in January either........:( Busy busy busy................... that's all she wrote.................. cheers

16.01.2022 Something a little different this week. Traveled north for this one. As birds, mainly sparrows, were nesting & pooping in the rafters of these carports, a decision was made to line them. So with help from the owners, we lined the ceilings with 4.5mm FC sheeting, and painted. No more bird issues and value added to the tenancy. Took one day, then an hour or so to apply final coat of paint the next day. (y)

15.01.2022 Before and after. Clients are happy :)

15.01.2022 Welcome to the New Year. How will 2020 pan out for you ? We are back to work from Friday 10th and are now taking bookings for quotes and painting. We also have a large stock on various types and colours of paint in our shed which need to be sold off at greatly reduced prices. Before you buy paint, message or call us first, we just may have something here.

13.01.2022 Welcome to 2021. We got through most jobs that were put on hold due to Covid and things. If you're thinking of a small job, like a bedroom, kitchen or similar, now is a good time to get a quote from us. Quotes last 3 months, due to very regular paint price increases. This week I completed a " get ready for sale " job on the northside. All stained timber work, decks, french doors and garage door. Making the weathered and tired timber look new again does two things, makes the buyer think the owner takes care of the property and also protects the timber. Protecting your timber areas with regular cleaning and re-coating will have these areas lasting into the next generation.

12.01.2022 Here's a quick how to. Spraying a ceiling. Start with the cornice and then full length.

12.01.2022 Just a quick one. More when we finish in about 3 weeks.

12.01.2022 Sow's ear to silk purse time. Sprucing up a home in the western suburbs pre-sale. Before and after pics below. ><>

11.01.2022 something to pass the time. Full external repaint, including roof. progress photos.

11.01.2022 Time for a little " How to ". For those that want to paint their driveway or garage floor , here's a quick video. First you must degrease the area ( spray can best ), then wash, then hydrochloric acid & broom it and then hose off. Leave for a couple of days to dry out. I use Berger Jet Dry, been around for many years and some would dispute it being a great product, but with careful prep, it works. First coat apply with 4mm micro-fibre roller and use 3 parts paint to 1 par...t turps. This is to provide a good substrate for the top coat to adhere to. Leave 16 hrs and apply top coat. Use the product straight or with a dash of turps. For non skid / slip, I use coarse aggregate. In my case to make the substrate as non-slip as possible, I added a " Flattening Agent ", but this is getting technical. FYI< I had 45m2 of bare concrete and used 3ltrs paint & 1ltr turps for the first coat. Top coat I used 4ltrs of paint a maybe a cup full of turps. See more

11.01.2022 Just thought I'd share some of the " stuff " we have to deal with. I don't mind a bit of DIY, but seriously ??????

11.01.2022 Red door painting 101

11.01.2022 prep done to DIY ceiling fix.

11.01.2022 Seems semi retirement doesn't mean the work slows down. So much on the books and I'll get around to it all with a lot of help from Damon & Brett from... https://www.facebook.com//D-F-Painting-Services-594319150/ Professional guys with a great attitude of " getting it done ". Hope everyone is safe and healthy ? cheers Phill

10.01.2022 Another little before and after. Bringing new life to some tired step treads in a commercial building.

10.01.2022 Just a couple of before and after shots. This re-paint is a direct result of my client getting advice from a certain big store ( shed ). That advice was completely wrong and my client is about $1,000 out of pocket. We'll leave that just there. Basically we stripped all existing paint from door frames, window frames and skirtings. Applied Dulux Precision High Strength Adhesion primer, Dulux Total Prep and then Dulux Aquanamel Gloss. We are undertaking this job in 2 stages as to not impact too heavily on the client. So far so good, but jeez it has been a mission. The house is having it's first repaint in 30 years, hence all the patching.

09.01.2022 Some before and after pics of the job completed today. Northside small shopping complex needed a face lift. We not only painted it, but undertook the colour consultancy for the new client. FYI, we offer a free colour consultancy to all clients and even if you are not a client , we can assist if you are having trouble finalising the colours of your project.

09.01.2022 A quick job today. Local bank needed some TLC. We even replaced some carpet tiles due to water damage. Is there nothing we cannot do ? :)

08.01.2022 Sneaky little job......

07.01.2022 Just completed an external repaint at an Inner Brisbane suburb. A few issues to contend with, like access, height, substrate condition and parking. The house was basically sanded back to bare timber and or feathered back to provide a smooth substrate.. Primed and 3 coats. Funny thing is, a lot of neighbours have stopped and approved of the job and colours with most commenting, they hadnt even noticed the house before. Photos will explain. The client was a pleasure to deal with and is now the proud owner of the best looking house in the street. Colours are:- Green Paw Paw, Antique White USA and Tearose Pink.

06.01.2022 Here at Kingfisher, we don't advertise. The " grapevine " works well and a big thank you to our clients that have passed on our details to others, who in turn passed on details. I didn't really know how things were going until just now, sitting here, pumping out the never ending paperwork. We have just booked in job number 100 for 2019. Pretty sure that is an all time high. Onwards and upwards. :)

06.01.2022 CORVID-19 Statement. 24th March 2020. As of a couple of days ago Kingfisher Painting Solutions ceased full time operations. Our Commercial Clients have all but shut up shop and some of our Domestic clients have postponed works. We will however, continue to undertake small jobs where we are not in contact with or have limited contact time with clients or the public. We will be practicing the best possible " Social - Distancing " within our ranks and all Government recommend...ations regarding hygiene will be applied. No one within the KPS organisation has shown signs of Corvid or have tested positive, but there remains a slight contact trace element, as the " carriers " of this virus may or may not have come into contact with our people. We wish everyone a safe few months ahead and be aware , we can still undertake painting works for you, if required, just a little more " carefully ". cheers Phill & Mandi & crew. See more

05.01.2022 We scraped, plastererd, sealed and painted.

04.01.2022 Howd'y clients and friends. I have now semi retired, but will continue to undertake small, one person jobs. I have sourced a new crew to take over the big stuff, so keep the offers coming in. cheers ><> :)

03.01.2022 Quick tour of patching holes in plasterboard walls & ceilings. We have success with utilizing Gyprock, Basecoat and topping. I think I'll let the photos tell the story.

02.01.2022 This weekend we turned an old garage into a fresh work space. Mother's Day pressie. :)
