20.01.2022 Dear King Islanders We are pleased to announce that 364 days a year you can shop on King Island. This can be applied by following these steps:... Step 1 - To get started, go to the Main Street of Currie, where you will find self-employed retailers whose dedicated work 6-7 days a week, ensures we have a wide range of shopping supplies on the island. Step 2 - Enter your desired shop and select the items you require. Step 3 - Greet your retail staff, all of whom you know. Step 4 - Say hello to your fellow shoppers, all of whom you know. Step 5 Complete your purchase and have your shopping, gift wrapped at Terry Perry’s, or carried for you from the IGA or FoodWorks to your car. There are timings for shopping at IGA or FoodWorks, open every day 364 days a year, from 7.30am until 6pm, no depot required. If you have any queries, just ask one of the 50 King Islanders employed by IGA and FoodWorks. Kind regards Chamber of Commerce King Island

12.01.2022 King Island Chamber of Commerce acknowledges the backbone of our island's economy are its rural industries. This photo shows how lucky we are; lush pasture and lustrous cattle with heaps of hay bales harvested for the winter ahead.

11.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed the Christmas Market last night - shoppers, sellers and entertainers. We particularly appreciated the efforts of King Island Council in getting the street closed off and making sure the Christmas tree was up for everyone to enjoy while they shopped. We were very sad to see that the tree had been vandalised overnight and knocked over ... huge thanks to the individuals who got it standing proud again! King Island Council

05.01.2022 Local businesses employ people - people with children who go to school here; part time workers and emergency services volunteers. These businesses provide a whole heap of services and products for us. Dollars spent locally support and maintain our community, create jobs for our family and friends, and build a community that's worth living in.
