13.01.2022 Following a challenging day for firefighters in the Lake Buffalo area, some good news for King Valley communities. The Whitfield - Black Range fire was contained today after some fantastic work by local CFA brigades and Forest Fire Management Victoria. The fire, which burnt 15 hectares, was ignited by lightning on New Years Eve and posed a significant risk to communities during Saturday’s extreme fire conditions.... Thanks to the great work of firefighters, aircraft and machinery, the fire was held within containment lines. Deputy Incident Controller, Jarrod Hayse, said the fire had significant potential to impact the community. While we have a lot of work to do together with the community to get through the current fire situation, this was a great save and example of fire services working together. Firefighters will continue to patrol the fire during the coming days. 11.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN AGAIN................Hi everybody. At long last we can post some information about the camp re-opening. We will be open this Queens Birthday weekend subject of course to the Health authorities rules, which leaves us severely limited due to those restrictions. If you have a self contained caravan you are welcome to come and enjoy a weekend away in the King Valley with us. We are looking forward to seeing you all again.

11.01.2022 ALL SAFE NOW There are still fires that will continue to burn for the coming weeks. We would like to thank the community for their attention to the warnings issued, Friday 10 January 2020. While conditions did reach anticipated levels for this spike day, the work completed by crews leading into this period and the use of helicopters, firefighting aircraft and crews on the ground meant we were able to act quickly on any break-outs. Over the next few days, weather conditions look to be favourable and firefighter will continue to work in the area, and where possible, perform back-burning which may increase smoke. An Emergency Warning will be issued if the risk to communities increases.

10.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Hope you are all coping and staying safe during this covid 19 time, and havent gone to stir crazy. We sure do miss everybody coming in and out of the camp. Lets hope that the lock down is over very soon and we can start having you all here again. We have had some very heavy rain over the last few days. So Paul took a video of what the track looks like on the way down to the river. We have had over 150ml of rain, the gauge only goes to 150 and it was overflowing.
