18.01.2022 Another successful and educational day at Kings Hill with Kate Fenner's 'Starting the Specials' clinic. What a wonderful group of horses and rider/trainers! We had everything from a 10yo super chunky Highland Pony Stallion to a sweet 3 yo boy doing it all for the first time.....and Dante, the spoiled, cheeky one ;)... And Kate was able to re-aquaint herself with a the lovely paint gelding Kandoo Magic (now known as peewee) sold two years ago to a neighbor of ours. All in all a very full and active day with all the horses progressing through levels at their own particular pace and ALL of them being superstars! Thankyou Kate! and thankyou to everyone who attended. It's a long day and everyone gets so much out of it. I will post the date for the next session on here very soon.

18.01.2022 The Boys and Girls (four legged and furry) at Kings Hill have recently had the pleasure of the company of Kate Fenner (and her team), who have been doing some fascinating research into equine learning. The 'volunteers' have been fitted up with a heart monitor connected to a computer. They have then been 'walked through a series of exercises to ascertain whether they learn better with or without certain preliminary techniques. It has been wonderful to watch all the different attitudes and responses, although I must say with pride that Kate has commented on how wonderfully well behaved, calm and happy they all are. We look forward to seeing all the results when they are all processed and collated.

17.01.2022 There will be no lessons at Kings Hill today.... ..but we ARE admiring the full dams :)

16.01.2022 So today YBH Dante gave his first official lesson. His behavior and his understanding of the questions was exemplery. And his partner for the session was well up to the task! Both took a little time to familiarize themselves with each other but once that was done there was a bond and a mutual understanding that culminated in a session with excellent rhythm, forward, and response. Dante's strenghts played to Red's (riders usual mount) "weaknesses" and there was a lot learned on both sides. My only regret is that I didn't have my phone on me so no pix :( Next time......well done Merete Bjerring and YBH Dante

15.01.2022 Once again the WONDERFUL rain has left the grounds at Kings Hill and the Showgrounds VERY soggy!! It is unfortunate but probably not safe to be working with young/green horses in these ground conditions (even though it looks like being a lovely day today) The next date that Kate has available is SUNDAY NOVEMBER 29th.... Could everyone who is intending to attend please let me know by the end of next week (Friday 20th) There is an Auditing fee of $20 (payable on the day) and a hands on place in the clinic costs $150 half a day and $200 for the full day (well worth it) A deposit of $90 secures a spot (refundable if clinic is cancelled due to inclement weather/ground conditions) Hope you all have loads of educational things to go on with your horses and if you need some guidance in the meantime please log onto the Kandoo Club site at www.kandooclub.com

14.01.2022 Hello everyone, well as you all know , for some time now, Kings Hill has been operating as an "appointment only" adult lessons and agistment facility, with the occasional clinic and fun day. We have decided that we need to be close to the ocean and have less land to care for so the property is on the market. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who made it all possible every Saturday for many years, and those who both attended and helped run the many FABULOUS camps we h...ad. I wont mention you all by name as there are so many of you, you all know who you are. And thankyou to all the unbelievable Kings Hill Ponies.....how many people did they patiently teach over the years? It has been an amazing experience with many joyous moments and some heartbreaking tragedy......but we work through those and carry those great horses in our hearts forever. 13.01.2022 Kings Hill is delighted to announce that the widely experienced and wonderfully talented Kate Fenner of Kandoo Equine training will be conducting several clinics for people starting or re-starting their "special" horses.

11.01.2022 WELL !! The weather and peoples circumstances finally aligned (and smiled on us) and last Saturday saw the first of the KATE FENNER Starting the Specials clinics at Kings Hill. AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!... To watch both the horses and their owners progress through the levels (at different speeds) was just so educational and satisfying. I love it when you see, a horse particularly, have a very visible and discernible penny drop moment and say OHHH!! YESI GET IT!! Sort of goose-bumpy stuff ;P ..and I had a few of those as well..extremely enjoyable, friendly and educationalthank you Kate, REALLY looking forward to doing the next one on Sunday November 15th There is still space for one or two more participants and a few ‘fence sitters’

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, due to the forecast of 41deg this coming Saturday I am posponing the Kings Hill Fun&Games day to a date to be advised. Sorry for any inconvenience but it really would be unfair on both horses and humans to go ahead in that heat. I will let everyone know of the new date when we decide.

05.01.2022 Could anyone driving into Kings Hill, please do so carefully & slowly. The driveway is very slippery. There is max speed limit of 30kph on the road from the front gate to the stables. There are often horses on or near the road and particularly in wet weather this must be obsereved. Thanks for your co-operation Amanda
