18.01.2022 Lapis Lazuli is one of the most sought after stones in use since man's history began. Its deep, celestial blue remains the symbol of royalty and honour, gods and power, spirit and vision. It is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth. In ancient times Lapis Lazuli was most highly regarded because of its beautiful colour and the valuable ultramarine dye derived from it. Its name comes from the Latin lapis, "stone," and the Persian lazhuward, "blue." It is rock formed by multipl...e minerals, mostly Azurite, Sodalite, Calcite and Pyrite, and is a rich medium to royal blue with gold flecks (pyrites). Lower-grade Lapis is lighter blue with more white than gold flecks, and is sometimes called denim Lapis. Lapis Lazuli was among the most highly prized tribute paid to Egypt, obtained from the oldest mines in the world, worked from around 4000 B.C. and still in use today. Referenced in the Old Testament as sapphire (unknown in that part of the ancient world), Lapis Lazuli is most likely the fifth stone in the original breastplate of the High Priest, as well as those of later times. [Kunz, 293-294] The golden sarcophagus of King Tutankhamen was richly inlaid with Lapis, as were other burial ornaments of Egyptian kings and queens. It was used extensively in scarabs, pendants and other jewellery, and ground into powder for dyes, eye shadow and medicinal elixirs. [Simmons, 227] In the dry, barren land of the Egyptians, this deep cobalt blue colour was a spiritual contrast to their arid desert hues. The gold flecks were like stars in their night-time sky and by meditating on these colour they felt supernatural forces would transform their lives. The garments of priests and royalty were dyed with Lapis to indicate their status as gods themselves. [Raphael, 141] In ancient Persia and pre-Columbian America, Lapis Lazuli was a symbol of the starry night, and a favourite stone of the Islamic Orient for protection from the evil eye. [Megemont, 110] Lapis was much used in Greek and Roman times as an ornamental stone, and in medieval Europe, Lapis Lazuli, resembling the blue of the heavens, was believed to counteract the wiles of the spirits of darkness and procure the aid and favour of the spirits of light and wisdom. [Kunz, 370] Ground and processed into powder, it produced the intense, but expensive, ultramarine colour favoured by the painter, Michelangelo. [Megemont, 111] Buddhists recommended Lapis as a stone to bring inner peace and freedom from negative thought, and during the Renaissance, Catherine the Great adorned an entire room in her palace with Lapis Lazuli walls, fireplaces, doors and mirror frames. [Simmons, 227]

18.01.2022 Septarian Nodule, also referred to as Dragon Stone, is a tri color concretion composed of Aragonite (the brown), Calcite, (the yellow), and Limestone (the grey). The name comes from the word Septaria, which usually refers to any concretion with internal cavities or cracks. This unique mineral was formed around 50 to 70 million years ago during Earth’s Cretaceous Period. Sea life during that time became attracted to the molten sediment that was produced by these massive volc...anic eruptions. Overtime as sea life began to die, their chemical composition became enriched in sedimentary rock, forming the nodules we see today. As oceans began to recede around the world, the water within soon dried out and massive cracks formed internally. The chemicals within the dead sea life eventually crystallized and formed Aragonite crusts and drusy Calcite crystals. Most Septarian Nodules are from Utah, where the Gulf Of Mexico once spanned to, as well as Madagascar, which was under very similar conditions during that time period. Egyptian musk wearers who have used this fragrance are not satisfied with anything else and won’t settle for cheap substitutes or... oil that has been diluted in order to stretch its use. There is absolutely nothing else quite like the fragrance of Egyptian musk oil. Egyptian musk has been in use for many thousands of years and has been refined today into a product that is just about impossible to beat in terms of fragrance. The Egyptian musk scented oil has a quality and character which is entirely its own. I have never seen an Egyptian musk perfume but I believe that if anyone attempted to produce a perfume it would flop as a product because it can never have the same character as the Egyptian musk oil. Egyptian musk was originally utilized to attract the opposite sex. If I were to be honest with you I will tell you that it attracts the opposite sex now. People who use this fabulous fragrance first use it because they like it themselves. The fact that the wearer of a fragrance loves it carries over in his or her attitude when they are wearing it in the presence of others. Wearing a fragrance which you know is popular and delightful to others gives a greater sense of confidence. The Egyptian queen Cleopatra is known for wearing Egyptian musk oil. In fact it is believed that it was the mystifying scent of Egyptian musk oil that helped her to win over Mark Antony. Today it is possible to duplicate just about any and every fragrance possible. Prior to this, human beings were accustomed to making use of a wide variety of musk scents for the purpose of charming their mates and winning over their hearts. The use of Egyptian musk oil has remained consistent for the passage of time and you will be able to find many people across the globe that make use of this ancient scent in the same way that it has been used over the years. It was originally produced from the scent obtained from the musk glands of a wild catlike creature called a Civet. However killing the Civet and using its musk glands is not acceptable today. 16.01.2022 In the realm of dark stones, Smoky Quartz offers a rare and beautiful transparency that draws light into shades of black and brown. With crystals as pale and surreal as a wisp of smoke, as dark and clear as midnight waters, or as warm and rich as a cognac by the fire, this mineral honors its connection with Mother Earth. It is a talisman of the Root Chakra, an anchor in the natural world, drawing white light energy from the Crown down through the body to be deeply rooted into... the physical plane. It initiates movement of primal forces within the body and activates one’s survival instincts in a purified way. It brings strength and stability, and a sense of personal pride in walking the Earth and inhabiting a human form. [Raphael, 90][Melody, 607][Lembo, 288] Smoky Quartz was known as a Stone of Power. To the ancient Druids, it was sacred and signified the potent dark power of Earth gods and goddesses. In other cultures it guided souls to the afterlife, served in shamanistic rituals and tribal ceremonies, and was utilized in magic and scrying to connect with spirits of the lower worlds. Smoky Quartz’s phenomenal power, then and now, lies in its ability to protect and ground one physically and spiritually to this world, and to absorb and transmute significant amounts of negative energy and release it into the Earth to be neutralized naturally. It provides a vital shield against psychic attack, emotional and environmental stress, and is used extensively in healing and meditation. Unfortunately, we have developed defenses to protect ourselves from feeling negative emotions; ignoring, repressing and ultimately storing the emotions within the body and aura. This has an adverse effect on our bodies, producing physical and emotional pain and disease as the emotions and their vibrations settle into an organ, gland or system of the body. The limbic system, or old brain, is particularly affected, as the memory of trauma is stored in this "seat of emotions". Studies conducted at New York University proved that the amygdala (gland of the limbic system that stores and releases emotional trauma) ONLY releases emotional trauma through the sense of smell. It does not respond to sound, sight or touch. See more
