24.01.2022 A huge welcome to all the women taking part today in the tournament and thank you to all the men who made it out to Redlands last night on time for your game. Great effort guys. If you're playing today or coming along to support your family member or nation, you may find the car park in front of the clubhouse already full. If that's the case, please continue up the hill past the clubhouse and turn left through the gates at the top of the hill into a much bigger parking area. If the gates are locked, let the clubhouse know so they can quickly open it for you and everyone else. Let your family and friends know about the second car park at the top of the hill if they're coming along later. Good luck to everyone who's playing today, keep hydrated and don't forget the sunscreen.

13.01.2022 Finals weekend of KQPR Rugby is almost upon us... Will the Queensland Maori be able to break the Samoan and Tongan strangle hold on the competition? Who will ultimately be the first teams on the Premiership chopping block in the Premiership relegation game?... Will we see the relative new kids on the block Queensland PNG leap frog both the Cook Islands and Niue and claim the Championship and a position among the Queensland Pacific elite rugby communities? Will we see the Queensland PNG women claim their first ever crown or will the fast finishing Fijians and Maoris and a dark horse from the pack upset the fairy tale? Only one way to find out.... get down to Redlands Rugby Union club.

13.01.2022 WEEK 1 STANDINGS In the men's Premiership division Queensland Samoa did their best All Blacks impression sealing late victories at the death against both the Queensland Maori and Queensland Tonga. Queensland Maori however, were able to finish equal points with the Samoans after a bonus point loss and a bonus point victory against the Fijians which means alongside the Tongans sets up a 3 horse race to the grand final. ... With a number of their players returning from Central Coast 7's, the Fijians will look to play the ultimate party spoilers, should they be able to secure a victory against Samoa. The possibility likely to throw the final placings into a free for all leading into the Grand Final and relegation game on Saturday. In the Championship division, Papua New Guinea surprised many when they shot out of the blocks and accounted for both Niue and the Cook Islands and avoiding an absolute disaster on Friday night look to have sewn up one spot in the Championship grand final/ Premiership promotion game. The race to partner the Papua New Guineans in the final is still wide open with that position to be decided in the final Friday night round robin fixture with Niue, Cook Islands and Samoa Red still in with a shot. On the Queens side of the division, just like their men, the female PNG team has blasted out of the gates and have made their intentions for this year's title clear with an amazing points for and against differential and 3 victories locked into the bank. Snapping at their heals are the women from Brisbane Fiji who also enjoyed a strong first week as well as the women from the Queensland Maori. All these results set up fascinating scenarios for the second and final week of the competition.
