08.01.2022 My passion project of providing equine ( horse) therapy for aged care and people with dementia is progressing post covid. After several years of volunteering and taking my pony to visit aged care facilities, I am working hard to turn my passion project into a small business to be able to expand the services to other facilities and people in the area. I wasn't the winner of the community grants so many worthy entrants, but Im determined to make this happen and wont give up :)

06.01.2022 Hi my name is Sara and I am a registered nurse and avid horsey girl. I am also currently studying my bachelor in dementia care. I have been involved with the elderly and people with dementia throughout my nursing career. My dream for the last couple of years has been to provide equine therapy /horse interactions for the elderly especially those living with dementia to my local community. I have taken my pony joe to a local aged care facility on occasions, and the joy it has brought to the residents has been amazing. I am currently in the process of applying for a grant to cover costs of appropriate insurances and the resources required to be able to provide this service on a regular basis. Hopefully I can get my program up and running soon!
