24.01.2022 It was a dinner where the Chef Apprentices of Kingscliff TAFE showed off their skills to the local community - a black tie dinner to celebrate Taste of Kingscliff and the Tweed Coast.

22.01.2022 For the safety of staff, students and our communities, the following campuses will be closed on Friday 31 March 2017: Lismore Casino Murwillumbah and... Kingscliff We will provide updated advice first thing Monday morning about any further responses to weather conditions. At 4.24pm today, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) updated a Severe Weather Warning for various areas in the North East of NSW - http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN20032.shtml. Flood advice regarding the Wilson River and the Tweed River was updated, indicating that both rivers will exceed major flood levels late this afternoon. Flood Evacuation Orders have been issued by the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) for Tweed Heads South, Tweed Heads West, Chinderah, Kingscliff, Fingal Head, Bilambil, South Murwillumbah, Condong, Tumbulgum and Lismore. Whilst we are hopeful our Lismore, Casino, Murwillumbah and Kingscliff Campuses will not be directly inundated, travel around the Richmond and Tweed areas is currently difficult and dangerous. Road closures due to local flooding are occurring and we anticipate more road closures in and around our campus areas tonight and tomorrow. Our TAFE campuses are key community resources and as such, our Kingscliff campus has been established as an Emergency Evacuation Centre. We have been advised there is likely to be a significant number of people evacuated from the areas around the Tweed who may be needing to utilise the Kingscliff campus tomorrow to stay safe. Please continue to monitor the conditions via the Bureau of Meteorology and SES websites, and through the local media, which has been advised about our closures. It is important to follow any advice regarding road closures, including staying off roads or taking any other safety measures. Above all else, it is important you ensure your own personal safety by not travelling where it may be unsafe to do so and following the safety advice provided via the below sites and other media sources. 18.01.2022 The ‘Duck Inn Café’ at Kingscliff TAFE has provided a genuine workplace for a group of students with a disability to develop their work skills and experience wh...ilst completing their Certificate 1 in Hospitality Café Skills. For some of these students this is the first time they’ve participated in work experience, shares Ms Raftery, Access and Support /Disability Consultant. Vanessa Finneran, Teacher of Commercial Cookery says over the 10 week delivery of the course she has witnessed the confidence in the students grow as they overcame uncertainty and found belief in their ability to succeed. So while the demand for the co...mmercial cookery course at Kingscliff TAFE is high, so is the attrition rate according to head chef Garry Smith. His apprentice students were put through their paces preparing the Sustainability Lunch for the TASTE of Kingscliff and the Tweed Coast food and wine festival at the Caldera Restaurant, the TAFE's working kitchen.
