21.01.2022 Yesterday Kingscliff 347 attended an automatic fire alarm at a premises in Bogangar. On arrival crews found a sprinkler head which had activated in the loading dock. Crews shut off water and drained the sprinkler system in order to replace the damaged head.... As crews had attended the same situation a few months ago they knew there was no where to safely raise our large ladder so they knew to utilise the Tweed Coast RFS appliance and use their crew access area to the rear of the cabin to access the damaged head while giving our crew falls protection while undertaking the task. After the replacement head was fitted crews then restored the sprinkler system and reset fire alarms. Always great to see and work with the local Tweed Coast Rural Fire Brigade.

21.01.2022 At 10:51 AM Kingscliff firefighters were called back to the earlier accident along with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 468 Tweed Heads Hazmat Van to manage the spill of oil leaking out of the prime movers engine. The oil was flowing into a cane drain which is full of water due to recent rain. Crews used booms, spag sorb and specialised bins to render the oil safe. ... A long drawn out incident, however the crews on scene along with Tweed Coast Rural Fire Brigade did a great job cleaning up the spillage. The M1 highway still remains at 1 lane open with a lot of traffic built up. Please allow extra time for travel.

18.01.2022 Kingscliff Fire Station had a busy morning being called to two separate Motor Vehicle Accidents at Kingscliff and Chinderah. A friendly reminder to please take care on our roads and also if you see traffic cones blocking the road/lane this indicates the road or lane is closed so please do not drive around or over the traffic cones. The safety of all persons on scene is paramount so safety measures are put in place for this reason.

17.01.2022 Tonight Kingscliff firefighters along with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 468 Tweed Heads were responded to reports of a house fire on Kingscliff street Kingscliff. On arrival crews found an oil fire already extinguished by the occupants. The occupants had used a fire blanket and a powder extinguisher to extinguish the fire prior to our arrival.... This shows the importance of having a fire safety plan. If it was not for the residents quick actions and preparedness, the results would have been a lot worse. Prepare your home for a fire! While not expected, it is better to be prepared.

Total Fire Ban rules A total fire ban means no fires out in the open. A total fire ban helps limit the potential of fires developing. 10.01.2022 Around 10.20pm last night Kingscliff 347 were called to a rubbish fire in Chinderah. As crews were approaching the scene they noticed a large amount of smoke and flames issuing from a medium sized factory building. A urgent red message was given to coms for extra appliances to attend. Access to the premises or a clear line of sight was initially unable to be gained due to the premises being locked. Crews made entry to the premises by cutting a padlocked gate and it was ascert...ained that there was a large fire in a concrete recycling bay and on a conveyor belt above. Firefighters carried out defensive fire attack. Fire and Rescue NSW Station 468 Tweed Heads, Hazmat and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 514 Banora Point arrived on scene shortly after and assisted in fire fighting operations. A Kingscliff firefighter utilised a forklift to try and remove the smouldering fire, however it did not have the effectiveness needed due to the grabs. The forklift was used to tie off the 70mm hose to drown the fire. The fire was contained to one area but the whole building was ventilated due to being heavily affected by smoke. The fire took nearly 2 hours to extinguish. Also in attendance NSW Police Force NSW Ambulance Essential Energy

Thank you Offspring Early Learning Centre Chinderah and Kingscliff Mini School for inviting us. To the students wanting us to throw lollies from the truck it is only another 245 sleeps until we bring Santa back around to give you lollies.
