19.01.2022 Love the ingenuity of our local young peeps, but surely they deserve better than this! Especially when you think this is just down the road from a major piece of infrastructure that will forever change our town which took less than 12 months to get approval. Meanwhile the community has been calling for a skatepark for decades. Doesn’t seem fair does it? Please sign the petition if you haven’t already http://chng.it/856TsXvpTn... UPDATE: Given all the interest shown here, I’d like to invite anyone keen to help with fundraising and pitch ideas to PM us about a meeting.

18.01.2022 *** Last chance! Survey closes tomorrow!*** We need to send a strong message that Kingscliff has been calling for a skate park for decades! Follow the link below then:... 1) Click on 'North Coast - Kingscliff' on the right 2) Scroll down to Item No.26 on the right 3) Make the Priority 'High' and leave a comment in support of a skate park at Kingscliff and some suggestions on where in Kingy you’d like to see it go. http://tweedsc.maps.arcgis.com//CrowdsourceRep/index.html

18.01.2022 So this is happening in a couple of weeks, just up near Mudgeeraba. Great day out to check out some brave (insane?) downhill speed skaters. Any locals competing? Zane Bonser?

13.01.2022 Great write up about our local young skaters in the Tweed Valley Weekly today. So much talent! #letsgetbehindthem #skateparkforkingy

13.01.2022 Some perspective on what we’re asking for: To build a world class skate park (like the one pictured at Alexandra Headland) we need a space of 1100 sqm. One bowling green is between 961 and 1600 sqm, and we have 3 of them on beach front land (plus the club house which takes up that amount of land again). ... So what we are asking for, is little more than the equivalent space of just 1 bowling green - to provide families and youth of the area a space in which to gather, have fun, and exercise. Not too much to ask I don’t think. ** To be clear, this post is NOT about wanting to take Bowls club land - a bowling green is just used as a size comparison to show people how much land we need to build a great skate facility.

11.01.2022 Dreaming of the possibilities. #skateparkforkingy #skateparkbythecreek

06.01.2022 This week at Murbah!

06.01.2022 To those that say a skatepark will bring a negative element to Kingy - reality check. Skateparks bring opportunities for young and old to challenge themselves and achieve goals. Check out this GC 5 year old! https://www.instagram.com/p/Br8dle9FAH9/

05.01.2022 So we thought when we got TSC to hold the round table on the skate park last year we’d made progress. Then when the skatepark was listed in the Open Spaces Strategy as an action, we thought this cant be too far off. Then, at an August Council meeting we were pushed right back. They’re now doing another strategy and have given themselves 1-3 years to do it. (See 1.1.2 below)... Any ideas anyone?

01.01.2022 Calling all 12-24 year olds! Get on here and show your support (again) for a skatepark for Kingy! https://www.yoursaytweed.com.au/youth-voice
