24.01.2022 On to guitars for Captain Hellfire and The Wretched Brethren. Pretty solid wall of tone. Finlay McTavish definitely has an very efficient tech / twin brother in Doug Clark.

21.01.2022 Just got this custom built cab in. Its a 2 x 12 open stacked on top of 2 x 12 closed. The craftsmanship is STUNNING!

21.01.2022 I did some student workshops in the school holidays. These guys did three one hours sessions that incorporated writing and working as a band, tracking and editing as well as basic music production. Check out a snippet of their song in this video. They had a ton of fun. I can see a lot of value in this format and would be keen to do more of this type of thing.

17.01.2022 2019 resolution to get better at social media. 2018 was full of great projects and I barely posted anything. First cab off the rank. Learnt and tracked 9 songs on drums in a day at Ghostnote Recording Studios, with the previous day being used to set up. #drummer #engineer #producer

15.01.2022 Lot going on at the moment. Need to get better a social media. Look at this amazing bass rig. Vintage Ampeg V-68 (full fat and warm) underneath the Acoustic (DFA1979 solid state fuzz!) also splitting the signal and running into a shitty Samick and smashing that into a 1073 pre for another fuzz flavour. Along with the DI and multi mics there were 6 channels of bass. So many options to highlight different parts of the song.

14.01.2022 This is the first project that I recorded, mixed and mastered from start to finish. Mostly tracked live at Capital Sound, few additions at Kings Closet. These guys are legends.

09.01.2022 Last week I had the pleasure of tracking bass with Dylby from Captain Hellfire and The Wretched Brethren. A nicer gent you will not find. He bought some sweet gear and we pulled a rad sound. He also has the most amazing custom made pirate bass in existence. Yarrr!

06.01.2022 Working on Rhys Howlett's LP. This was a fun day of live tracking, no overdubs. Beautiful result.

06.01.2022 Hey friends, heres another great track from Rhys Howlett. Ever wished you had a little bit of ethnic flavour in your blood in line? Thats what this song is abou...t. Rhys and myself built this together from the ground up using my awesome team of session musos. Flik laying down that deep funk. Mark came up with a ripper Frusciante style guitar hook and also had a duelling bouzouki (mando) solo with himself. Jono Ruse adding some very tasteful texture on keys and of course the velvety pipes of Rhys sound like they're whispering in your ear. I tracked myself on drums at Ghostnote Recording Studios and recorded, produced, mixed and mastered everything else at Kings Closet.
