19.01.2022 ** Hard start ** This week we were presented with two Diesel engines that struggled to start, Once started they would blow a lot of smoke. Glow plugs were tested by both owners and our workshop and they were in good order. Next step is checking the fuel system and final step compression testing of the motor. This can be hard to perform without the correct equipment (some makes and models you have to remove a lot of components) we found one motor had worn valve seats and the other a blown head gasket. 05.01.2022 **Bus Breakdowns** Early Sunday morning we attended a BCI bus owner that was experiencing a low power fault on his way to Sydney. We scanned the computers on the highway and no obvious fault was found. The bus was then driven to our workshop where we found the Turbo charger was only making 1 Psi of boost. We replaced the Turbo the same day and the bus returned to work the next day. 04.01.2022 Can you spot the defect in this photo? During the week we were presented with a truck for a last minute pre purchase inspection. The new Buyer had flown up from Sydney to inspect + purchase the truck. He found no issues but decided to get a mechanics opinion before purchasing. The truck was in good condition minus the broken leaf spring on the steer axle. Finding this defect saved the new owner $1500+ in repairs, making the pre purchase inspect well worth his investment.
