25.01.2022 This year, we had a round of word of affirmation as part of our Christmas ritual. We never really say enough thank you, I love you, you are beautiful to our work family. We get laughters, discomfort and tears, it’s all fun.

24.01.2022 MISSING TEETH REPLACEMENT OPTIONS It is unfortunate when someone loses a tooth. We are here to offer several options to replace it or make adjustments to the overall appearance of your mouth. Here is the pro and contra on each options. 1. Removable partial denture... Pro: - Often simple - Do need to trim down any teeth - Quick- Relatively lower treatment cost compare to bridge and implant. Contra: - Not fixed in mouth, it can move a little when speaking or eating and can be uncomfortable. - The metal clasps that hold denture in the mouth maybe visible when speaking and smiling (aesthetic compromise). - If the oral hygiene isn’t good, it can worsen periodontal disease in long run. - Bulky appliance. Can’t be tolerated by some people e.g. persons with high gag reflex or xerostomia. - Jaw bone on edentulous space still melts away. 2. Bridge Pro: - Fixed to adjacent teeth - Comfort - Can be completed in around 4 weeks Contra: - May need to trim down adjacent teeth for support. - Irreversible procedure. - Expensive and complex treatment. - May not suit to all situation. - Jaw bone will still melt away & eventually a gap may show under bridge 3. Implant Pro: - Predictable (97% success rate over 8 year period) - Safe - Feels and acts the most like a natural tooth when chewing, brushing or smiling. - No need to alter any other teeth - No decay problem - Easier to clean other teeth - Preserved jaw bone - A long term lifespan therefor cost effectiveness Contra: - It is a surgical procedure - Takes 3 to 12 months to finish - May involve other procedures e.g. the use of temporary denture, bone grafting. - Relatively contra-indicated in tobacco smokers 4. Do nothing Pro: - Part of a shortened dental arch plan. Contra: - The bone will slowly melt away over time once the tooth is lost - Potential aesthetic concern - Potential for drifting & tilting of adjacent teeth into gap over time, and over-eruption of opposing teeth over time We advise you to talk to our dentist to discuss and together we can tailor a suitable replacement for your missing teeth call 0296620321 to book an appoinment with us #dentures #kingsford#dentalclinic

24.01.2022 Kingsford Dental has walked an extra mile to deliver the best dental care available today by introducing a tremendous advancement of diagnostic technology, Dental Cone Beam CT (CBCT) or commonly known as 3D radiograph Have you experienced a 3D movie How realistic it feels to watch the 3D movie! Well, that’s basically what we can perceive in a 3D radiograph. ... =========== Advantages of Dental Cone Beam CT scans: Better image quality and accuracy The CBCT scan can give high definition images with exceptional details. The 3D capabilities mean that the dentist can view what’s going on in the patient’s mouth from multiple angles for better diagnosis and a complete evaluation. Images bone and soft tissues The CBCT can scan both bones and soft tissues easily. Dentists can use the CBCT and combined with an optical scan to create a complete virtual model of the patient’s soft tissues, bones and teeth. Allowing to create a more precise treatment plan CBCT is able to provide images within the bone and multidimensional assessment allows dentists to perform diagnosis and planning treatment simulations especially in planning of reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry procedures. Beneficial for guided surgeries The CBCT can give accurate picture of the location of the sensory nerves and maxillary sinus which helps to reduce the risk of unnecessary tissue damage during implants or dental surgical treatment. CBCT also can help dentist to select the right implant size and guide dentist during implant placement. A lower dose of radiation The CBCT scan uses a 90% less dose of radiation than a regular CT scan with no radiation remains in the patient’s body after the scan. Quick and painless A full-mouth scan often takes between 20 and 40 seconds as compared to 1 hour procedure in CT scans. The CBCT scan is non-invasive, painless and accurate with no discomfort like loud noise or claustrophobic settings . If you are interested in learning more about the 3D imaging or want to discuss your specific dental condition with one of our dentists and find out how the CBCT scan can aid in your treatment, call us at (02)96620321. 05.01.2022 Why it is important to replace missing teeth? It’s easy for us to take our teeth for granted. But our teeth don’t always last forever!! On average, Australian adults has lost about 5 permanent teeth due to decay, gum disease, injury, or a genetic condition. Missing one or more teeth can bring up a domino effect and cause a chain reaction of problem. Our teeth are designed to work together, so when there is a missing tooth or teeth, the remaining teeth may drift to make up f...or the lost teeth called teeth drifting. In the long term, missing teeth can develop into a more complex problem. What is happening during teeth drifting? During teeth drifting, the neighbouring teeth begin to shift and the opposing tooth begins to come out of its socket. These changes create an area around teeth that are hard to clean and in the long term could lead to tooth decay, teeth sensitivity and periodontal disease. Moreover, it can change the bite causing unbalance bite that could lead to teeth grinding and clenching, and pain on jaw joints. We advise you to talk to our dentist to discuss and tailor a suitable replacement for your missing teeth. Call (02) 96620321 to book an appointment.
