22.01.2022 Kingsgrove Music honours all those who have served and continue to serve to protect our freedom. Our family remembered our grandparents, uncles, parents, and partners who variously served in WW1, WW2, and in peacetime. It was an unusual but beautiful Anzac Day.

21.01.2022 Thank you to the parents and students of Kingsgrove Music for your determination to keep on with the regular routine of music lessons, both online and now back at the Studio. My thoughts are particularly with those families who are experiencing significant hardship. I hope new opportunities arise so you can start to regroup and rebuild. I am particularly grateful for the commonsense approach everyone is taking when attending the Studio, and supporting our COVIDSafe plan. Kingsgrove Music has, along with most small businesses, been impacted by COVID-19. For this reason, could I encourage our families to spread the word about us amongst your networks and contacts? Please like and share this page.

17.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to Jared (our Saturday guitar teacher) and his lovely wife Lu on the successful arrival of their second son. Mother and baby doing well. How peaceful he looks. Beautiful.

16.01.2022 Amongst the anxiety and stress there are some positive things that have come from COVID-19. Less traffic on the roads, slower pace of life, catching up on odd jobs around the house, cooking and baking, and ... a studio facelift. I am so pleased Peter’s Painting Service were able to fit us in to their schedule. I really hope you like the new look.

16.01.2022 Kingsgrove Music will be recommencing studio-based lessons from Monday 20 July. Of course, this is subject to change given the ever changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Families of Kingsgrove Music will be receiving an email that contains advice on the Safe Work Practices and Control Measures we are taking for the safe return of teachers and students to the Kingsgrove Music School. Please note - the usual exclusions are in place. If you are feeling unwell, have been in... contact with a person tested as positive for COVID-19, have recently returned from overseas or recently travelled to Victoria, you are not to attend the studio. We will be able to offer online lessons to you. Kingsgrove Music has in place a COVID-19 Safety Plan registered with the NSW Government, and Susan has undertaken Australian Department of Health eLearning course in Infection Control Training COVID 19. We take yours and our own safety and wellbeing very seriously. Having said that, I am very pleased that I will be welcoming you back from Monday 20 July! See more

14.01.2022 Today completes the first full week of our move to online learning. I thank our families for the effort you have made in learning the intricacies of Zoom, or Skype or FaceTime. We have all been on a steep learning curve together and I have no doubt that, as we progress, we will all become masters of the virtual world of remote music lessons. The teachers have been amazing and have really shown they have many talents beyond their musical ones. I also acknowledge those famili...es who are suffering at this time, either through the loss of a job, uncertainty about finances, or separation from significant others. The human spirit is resilient and I pray that these trials pass and bring a bigger, brighter world of opportunity. I would like to reassure those families who have been unable to join us online that they retain their place on the lesson schedule and we look forward to the time when you can return. Take care, stay safe and well, and please follow the protocols the will protect you, your families and the community. See more

12.01.2022 Thank goodness we have social media when needing to maintain social distancing. I apologise for the length of this post. At this point in time, Kingsgrove Music is still operational. Our families were advised by email and will also have received/be receiving a two page update on COVID-19 progressively over last week and this week. It outlines the current understanding of COVID-19 and the actions we are taking to maintain a safe environment. We have been extremely fortunate ...so far, and our families have been proactive in ensuring their own and others wellbeing. At this point in time, the studio remains open. This is particularly important as we have many students enrolled for the upcoming AMEB exams. Please note: * any child who is coughing and generally unwell should not attend - please ring me to check * anyone who has recently returned from overseas is to undertake the mandatory 14 day self-quarantine (i.e. not attend) * anyone who has had close contact with someone who has been infected with the virus is to self-quarantine (i.e. not attend) * parents are requested to either remain in their car or accompany their child into the various studio rooms. The number of seats in the waiting area has been reduced by 50% * all people entering the studio must wash their hands with hot water and soap, and should avoid touching their nose, eyes and mouth * surfaces and common touch points (handles, knobs, light switches, benches etc) are cleaned regularly, as are the piano keys * I have asked teachers to maintain a distance between themselves and the student In preparation for any future shut-down requirement we are exploring the use of online tools such as Zoom. Could I request families familiarise themselves with Zoom. Our aim is to ensure the routine of lessons and practice is maintained throughout these difficult times. My daughter trialed the use of Zoom last night for one of her classes and it was amazingly successful. Please stay well and please don't hesitate to contact me should you require further information, or even just reassurance. PS I have just completed an Infection Control Training - COVID - 19 e-learning course and am greatly reassured that the steps we are taking are compliant with current requirements. See more
