25.01.2022 We received this lovely email from Bettys daughter the other day. We thought we would share this positive feedback. Thank you Bernadette. We love seeing our consumers happy, especially through these hard times. Dear Ms. Nelson, I am writing to thank you and your organisation for the excellent care you have shown to my 90 year old mother, Betty. Mum is truly enjoying the outings, friendship and respect that your service offers.... I am deeply grateful that she is offered this service and that you strictly adhere to the current COVID guidelines by distancing everyone safely, both in the bus and during outings. I am not prepared to take Mum on outings at present (which I often usually do), as I mix with many people as a school teacher and I dont want to put her at risk of becoming ill. Your service and companionship for Mum, particularly in these difficult times, brings a smile to Mum and she excitedly relays to me the outings and people that she has met during the day. Your assistance and support for Mum is really appreciated by Mum and our family. Thanks, Bernadette

These are available for $5 at the front desk and in various sizes, and have been hand made with love by our KCAC volunteers, headed by Marge Lotty. All proceeds from the sale of masks will go back into the community work that we do here at KCAC. We are very grateful for your support.

12.01.2022 On Tuesday 11th August we welcomed to the Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre a Visit from our local Member, Mark Coure and the Minister for Community Services and Disability the Hon Gareth Ward MP. The intent of the visit was a friendly meet and greet and for the opportunity for members of KCAC to showcase and highlight the work that KCAC has been doing for vulnerable families, people suffering from mental health challenges, domestic violence and homelessness. CEO Anne Farah-Hi...ll, along with a contingent of senior staff, Board members and community representatives welcomed the Minister and Mr Coure ensuring that all abided by the COVID safe rules and social distancing. Anne spoke of the challenges we are experiencing during these unprecedented times and of the work that the centre is doing to keep people engaged with their local community in a difficult environment added to the stretch in resources etc. All in all the visit went well and we were able to highlight some further development to the Minister about the new services we hope to offer to women facing mental health issues. We live in hope that this is fully supported by the State Government.

01.01.2022 October is Mental Health Month in NSW! To look after the mental health of the staff of KCAC, a team bonding adventure was organised for the team to recharge and relax after a challenging and difficult year! It was greatly needed and appreciated and did wonders for our mental health and bonding as a team. Mental Health Month is an initiative of WayAhead, who collaborate with community and other organisations to develop the theme each year. According to the WayAhead website, the theme for Mental Health Month 2020 is Tune In, which means being present, being aware of what is happening within you and in the world around you. Have a look at their website directory for helpful information about mental health and where you can find help at www.directory.wayahead.org.au
