17.01.2022 In Performing Arts this term, our Year 5 and 6 students have been busy exploring set design and staging a scene from a known story. After deciding on a story, the students had to think about the scene they chose, what props would be in their set and how to decorate the stage. First they drew a picture (rendering) showing the setting and wrote a description of their design. Then they worked on the ground plan, which is like a map (bird's eye view) of the set. It helps the designer to see if the set pieces will fit on the stage. Our end product was creating a model of the stage, and each student explained their set design to the class. It was great to see the students' vision for their set design take shape.

11.01.2022 National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June of each year. This event was started by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938. Their goal was to help those in need during the Great Depression and to honour those of their members who served donuts to soldiers during World War One. Pictured here are Year 11 and 12 Drama students enjoying a donut courtesy of Miss Toohey.

07.01.2022 Prayer for NAIDOC Week: Lord God, bring us together as one, reconciled with you and reconciled with each other. You made us in your likeness,... you gave us your Son, Jesus Christ. He has given us forgiveness from sin. Lord God, bring us together as one, different in culture, but given new life in Jesus Christ, together as your body, your Church, your people. Lord God, bring us together as one, reconciled, healed, forgiven, sharing you with others as you have called us to do. In Jesus Christ, let us be together as one. Amen. See more

03.01.2022 In the last week, our Indigenous Support Officer, Mr Dallas Henaway has been talking with classes about Reconciliation Week and Sorry Day. Reconciliation Week is held every year from the 27th of May to the 3rd of June, and Sorry Day is remembered each year on the 26th of May. These are important dates for our nation to listen to each other, remember the history, the wrongs that have been done, and move forward together in reconciliation. Pictured: Welcome back hands created by Year 5-6 students, forming a circle representing community. All the hands are the same size, representing our equality.
