01.01.2022 A tribute to a club legend Bret Mackay on his 250th game from a fellow stalwart and best mate Ben Gavranich. Quiet achiever Bret Mooks 250 games, what an achievement. After playing his entire juniors career for the mighty red and blue, including two flags over head coach Jarrod Holmes at Whitfords, it's more like 500 games. ... Starting with the Kingsley colts back in 2004 Bret was one of the quiet ones who let his football do the talking and that it did. Big body, speed, agility and huge engine was always going to put him in good stead for a long career. He was an integral part of the first ever colt premiership in 2005 and again a huge part of the 2018 league premiership. His passion for the game, his team and club is second to none. Bret has always been a club favourite amongst players and spectators. A true great of the club. Over the journey Bret was a ruckman, rover, wingman full back halfback and you could even now call him a swing man after finding himself down forward on the odd occasion. I have literally played my entire football life with this guy in my team and have enjoyed every win loss or draw along the way.
