That is why it’s paramount to always check your work. ... Here is a Black Thermoplastic Ferrule we Set late last night to be ready for a tip this more and unfortunately there was a nice little glue ring where the ferrule has lifted during curing and there is a nice little see through gap between the ferrule and base of the tenon. While mechanically speaking this is a strong as normal but aesthetically speaking this does not me our standard. So back on the lathe it goes
22.01.2022 Juma is in who want a crazy looking ferrule. Juma is a thermoplastic it is slightly hard the the commonly used Nylon so it offers a nice crisp hit feel. The major advantage is that is is a cast product and does not have the self lubrications properties of Nylon ( Oil ). Which mean you can get tips to adhere with easy and eliminate the fear of a tip popping off randomly. ... You can have a natural finish like the rods or polish to a high gloss
21.01.2022 Every now and then you get old house cues come in. This old house cue came in and the previous owner had attempted a refurbishment but unfortunately the Laquer seal was what looked to be brushed on and was horrendous. After an hour of Sanding from 80Grit right down to 1200 Grit the Cue has come up very nicely. ... Stay tuned for the final product.

15.01.2022 Happy 2020 Cueists May you cue straight and the burning desire to win thrive. Let’s start the year off with a little cue maintenance. ... What burnishing does for your shaft The purpose of burnishing your shaft is to smooth and seal the wood. The more you burnish, the better the finish and, the slicker and more moisture resistant your shaft becomes. Moisture is the #1 enemy of your shaft. It causes the grain to raise and your shaft to warp. To burnish your shaft, use a leather burnisher and avoid abrasives. Sanding your shaft wears it down and makes the wood porous, which allows moisture to penetrate the grain and damage the wood.

06.01.2022 Stay away from abrasives Do not use any abrasives on your shaft and stay away from green pads in Pool Rooms. Using abrasives is going to take the diameter of your shaft down and modify the shape of your taper. It may even void the warranty of your cue. Predator shafts for example if the ferrule or wood diameter falls below 12.25mm for 314 shafts and 11.4mm for Z shafts then you void you warranty. Very fine micro papers (1500 grit) or burnishing is about all you need.
05.01.2022 Turning a Juma Ferrule. This Ferrule is Uncapped as per client request
05.01.2022 An Old Gold Medal Barrucuda made its way into the Shop for a Full spec Refurbishment. This Cue was a little beat up someone decided it was a good idea to over tighten the joint and then use stillsons to undo the join but we steamed and filled them out. Now it’s back to almost brand new. Cue was smoothed out resealed and buffed. ... This little project has come up beautifully. Ready for another 20years of Play
04.01.2022 PIVOIT POINT/FLEX POINT FOR YOUR SHAFT With any shaft, there is an optimal point on the shaft, called the pivot point/flex point, where you need to bridge to maximize your accuracy. In simple terms, if you bridge at the correct pivot point for your shaft and your initial set-up alignment is on target, you can actually hit the cue ball off-center and still hit the 1-ball dead center. At that bridge length, the deflection, or squirt, produced by the shaft will compensate for a ...stroke that deviated from its original set up or alignment. The optimal pivot point on the break is the bridge length that allows you to maximize your speed and gain maximum forgiveness at the same time. The BK2's pivot point has been tuned between 13" and 14" to allow you to maximize both acceleration and forgiveness at the same time. A majority of strong breakers bridge between 13" and 14" because it allows them greater acceleration and more powerful breaks. Most break cues have pivot points between 9" and 11" and require an extremely accurate stroke when using a longer bridge to generate speed. The BK2's pivot point has been tuned between 13" and 14" to allow you to maximize both acceleration and forgiveness at the same time. With a pivot point 2" longer than its next competitor, the BK2 gives you greater speed, increased accuracy and, much more importantly, a more powerful break. You might ask yourself what this got to do with English pool well the cues and technology has not had the development that American & International cue sports have had in the last 10 years English pool is still a very Traditional sport with very few new or improved theories and Techniques.
03.01.2022 Every now and then you get a special request. This project took a bit of time to perfect with some tweaks here and there and the end result came out perfect. 3/4 Red Glue John Parris converted to a 3 piece with a 3/8x10 Radial Pin in Black G10 This is essentially a wood to wood joint with the ash aligning as close to perfect as possible and The joint being seem less. This Project took some time to get perfect but the End result I believe turn out great. ... It was also Topped off with a blue Exotic Juma Ferrule. If you have any Question regarding this cue please don’t hesitate to contact us today
01.01.2022 Another Flutted ferrule with tip install. There has been a small re-design offering less lateral pressure on the tenon adding overall strength. 10.0mm flared to 11.0mm at the Tip.
