22.01.2022 Hi everyone, I had a report today from a member who lives on Avington St, that her council bin had been moved and she thinks someone was using it to try to gain... entry to her back deck. Just a reminder that thieves will use bins for this purpose. It's always better to keep your wheelie bins in your yard behind a fence when it isn't bin day. Even a 1st floor open window can be a tempting target for an opportunistic thief if there is a bin handy. I'm considering trying to arrange a Keperra NHW meeting in the next couple of months. I am waiting till this coming Friday to see what happens with COVID restrictions before organising anything, but I'll make the details available here and on the email list as they arise. Cheers, Damian

04.01.2022 Dogs on Patrol & Turning the Screws Saturday 13 March 2021 Dogs on Patrol The FG10 NHW group is running a ‘Dogs on Patrol’ event on Saturday 13 March 2021 from 3-5pm at the dog park behind the Ferny Grove Police Station, off Tramway Street. This program has recruited over 500 dogs and their owners in the North Brisbane area, and encourages dog walkers to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity to police. Turning the screws on crime... Why would someone steal number plates? Stolen plates are fitted to other cars so criminals can drive on the road without being detected by police. These cars are often involved in criminal offences like robbery, petrol drive-offs and evasion of speed or red-light camera fines. One way to prevent becoming a victim of number plate theft is to have anti-theft screws fitted to your car number plates. Why not take advantage of the opportunity to both walk your dog and have one-way screws fitted to your number plates. If you can’t make it on the day, you can always contact the Ferny Grove Police Station on 3872 1542 to access this free service. See more
