Through paint, Boden explores the conflicting aspects of the Tasmanian landscape and its psyche, creating an assemblage of ideas through colour, form and spatial organisation. Boden has also returned to portraiture, inspired to honour the stories of asylum seekers trying to find refuge in Australia and to draw attention to issues surrounding offshore detention. . As such, within this exhibition, Boden explores what constitutes a home and how in the twenty first century, this remains a fragile hope for so many. It also reminds us that despite being in uncertain times, here is Australia, the idea of home is often taken for granted. .
